Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking
Tampa Bay Rays RHB vs Rich Hill
The Tampa Bay Rays hold a top five offense against left-handed pitching as right-handed batters, with a wRC+ of 122. They look to have a nice matchup against opposing pitcher Rich Hill, who is making his first start of the season. Hill has a career 4.72 ERA and will likely struggle in his debut. Look for J. P. Arencibia and Evan Longoria as value picks for your infield.
Baltimore Orioles Middle of the Lineup vs Johnny Cueto
As a team, the Baltimore Orioles hold a top ten offense against right-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 101. They look to have a nice matchup against the struggling Johnny Cueto, who does not have a quality start in his last four outings. Definitely have a look at Chris Davis and Adam Jones as quality picks for your outfield.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings
Zack Greinke (SP, LAD) - $11800
Zack Greinke should have a quality outing on Sunday as he faces the Arizona Diamondbacks, who hold a bottom ten offense against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 95. Greinke makes for an incredibly safe pick as your primary pitcher, as he heads into this matchup with six straight quality outings.
Francisco Liriano (SP, PIT) - $10300
Francisco Liriano is another ace you should target on Sunday, as he faces the Milwaukee Brewers. Liriano’s strikeout rate has been difficult to predict as of late. However, he did have a good outing in his last matchup against the Reds. The Brewers will not be a tough test for Liriano, as the team holds a bottom five offense against left-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 81.
DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings
Derek Norris (C, SD) - $2800
Derek Norris looks to be a nice value pick against opposing pitcher Mike Leake on the road. Norris has struggled against right-handed pitching this season, holding a wRC+ of 86. However, Leake has struggled with consistency in his past few starts. The catcher position remains difficult to predict, and production is generally up in the air, so Norris’s price tag can really ease up the salary for the rest of your lineup.
Edwin Encarnacion (1B, TOR) - $4500
Edwin Encarnacion looks to be a nice pick against opposing pitcher Masahiro Tanaka on the road. Encarnacion has once again caught fire in his past few games, going 8 for 14 with two home runs. He holds a wRC+ of 147 against right-handed pitching, and should be a very safe pick given his BVP stats. Encarnacion is a career 7 for 14 with a home run against Tanaka. Just be sure to check the lineups ahead of time, as Encarnacion left Saturday’s game with a finger injury concern.
Brian Dozier (2B, MIN) - $4000
Brian Dozier looks to be a must-start against opposing pitcher Chris Sale on the road. Dozier holds a wRC+ of 119 against left-handed pitching this season. He provides rare power potential in a weak position, and has very nice career numbers against Sale. Dozier is a lifetime 11 for 36 with three home runs against the southpaw.
Travis Shaw (3B, BOS) - $2800
Travis Shaw makes for a terrific bargain bin pick against opposing pitcher Drew Smyly on the road. Shaw has been hitting well as of late, going 6 for 20 with thre home runs in his last five games. Shaw holds an incredible wRC+ of 190 against left-handed pitching this season. Look for Shaw to take advantage of Smyly, who has been inconsistent since returning from the DL.
Andrelton Simmons (SS, ATL) - $2900
Andrelton Simmons looks to be a great value pick against opposing pitcher Jonathan Niese at home. Simmons has struggled against left-handed pitching this season, with a wOBA of .243. However, his opponent Niese has struggled mightily as of late. Niese has given up at least five earned runs in each of his past four starts. Simmons also has very nice career numbers against Niese, going 8 for 23 without any strikeouts.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings
Chris Davis (OF, BAL) - $4500
As mentioned earlier, Chris Davis should be a great target against opposing pitcher Johnny Cueto at home. On the year, Davis holds a great wOBA of .386 against right-handed pitching. Davis has been one of the hottest hitters heading into the home stretch. In the month of September, Davis has hit .438 with six home runs. He is a steal at his current price tag.
Corey Dickerson (OF, COL) - $3400
Corey Dickerson remains a great play as your secondary or tertiary outfielder at his current price tag. Dickerson will face opposing pitcher James Paxton on the road. Dickerson’s limited at bats against left-handed pitching this season has skewed his advanced stats, so don’t be afraid to start him against the southpaw. Paxton has not pitched since May and is likely to face some rust in his first outing back from injury.
Alex Rios (OF, KC) - $3000
Alex Rios looks to be a great bargain pick against opposing pitcher Wei-Yin Chen on the road. Like Dickerson, Rios’s price tag has nowhere to go but up since he has just recently returned from injury. Rio has had a few nice games since returning to the lineup, and should be a great lottery ticket against the struggling Chen. Chen has given up at least 9 hits in 3 straight starts.
