Offenses to Target for FanDuel Stacking
White Sox RHB versus Joe Kelly
The righties in the White Sox order should have a field day with Joe Kelly, who has been pretty abysmal this season. Vegas has pegged the South Siders with a team over/under of 4.5 and I think they go above that number pretty easily. Kelly has allowed a .472 wOBA and .477 slugging percentage against right-handed batters in 2015.
Reds 1-6 hitters against Buck Farmer
When looking at his splits, I think it's safe to go with either the righties, lefties or some combination of the two, if you like to construct your stacks that way. Farmer was most recently shelled by the Cubs and I think the Reds will have a similar fortune this evening. He hasn't thrown too many games at the MLB level this season, but right-handed and left-handed batters all own batting averages over .300 and slugging percentages above .590 against him. And as we all know, Cincy is a great home run hitters park and Farmer allows more than two home runs per nine innings.
Honorable Mention: Red Sox LHB versus Jeff Samardzija
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel
Putting my favorite pitchers on here tonight in order of preference, taking into account matchups, opportunity, Vegas lines and season/career splits.
- Jacob deGrom (SP, NYM) - $11,700
- Hishashi Iwakuma (SP, SEA) - $9,000
- Ubaldo Jimenez (SP, BAL) $7,800
DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel
Stephen Drew (SS, NYY) - $2,200
Normally I don't let batter versus pitcher matchups influence my decisions, but there are a few today I couldn't ignore. Drew has only seen Feldman in 17 plate appearances, but of those 17, four were extra base hits (including two home runs) and his price tag is ripe to exploit.
Brian McCann (C, NYY) - $3,500
McCann quickly became one of my favorite guys to roster when two things are happening: 1.) the Yankees are playing a home game and 2.) they're facing a par to subpar right-handed pitcher.
Joey Votto (1B, CIN) - $4,500
If you aren't opposed to spending big on first baseman, Votto is an excellent play this evening. He owns a .430 wOBA against RHP this season and he should have no trouble at all knocking Buck Farmer around for a few extra-base hits.
Adam LaRoche (1B, CHW) - $2,400
If you can't afford to pay up (or don't want to) for the likes of Votto, LaRoche is your man. He can crush right-handed pitching for power and also owns a .326 wOBA against that group. I think he's a great tournament option and safe enough for cash games, too.
Jonathan Schoop (2B, BAL) - $2,400
Schoop at just $2,400 feels like I'm stealing but I'm not complaining, though. He's got great lineup position value and handles right-handed pitchers incredibly well.
Juan Uribe (3B, NYM) - $2,800
Free-swinging Juan has an excellent opportunity ahead of him tonight to help us win some GPP money. For the season, he owns a .361 wOBA and .204 ISO against LHP. He's also getting a major power park factor upgrade tonight in Philly.
Jhonny Peralta (SS, STL) - $2,300
The fact that someone who has a .360 wOBA and .219 ISO (against LHP) this season could be priced below 3K is beyond me. He should have great lineup positional value, too.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel
Hanley Ramirez (OF, BOS) - $3,100
HanRam's price today is pretty sweet considering the damage he's done to Samardzija's ERA over the years. Over the course of 23 at-bats, Ramirez has a .435 batting average and .957 OPS.
Michael Conforto (OF, NYM) -$2,700
Like with Ramirez, I see a lot of value in outfielders today with price tags south of $3,500. Conforto gets a big park upgrade this evening and he owns a .615 slugging percentage over the last two weeks.
Carlos Beltran (OF, NYY) - $3,500
Beltran has been one of the "must plays" over the month of August (or at least it seems that way). He's got a nice opportunity in front of him tonight in the Bronx facing Scott Feldman. Beltran has hit four home runs with a .727 slugging percentage in the past 14 days.
Stephen Piscotty (OF, STL) - $2,700
To stay the young Piscotty owns left-handed pitching this season would be an understatement. Of every player on the board tonight, he owns the highest wOBA (.467) against the pitcher arm side they face tonight than any other outfielder.
Jay Bruce (OF, CIN) - $2,800
There's so much value (see also: upside and opportunity) tonight among the outfield group that I wish I could make an entire roster from these guys and ignore the other positions. Bruce owns a super impressive .212 ISO against LHP in 2015.
Juan Lagares (OF, NYM) - $2,500
Especially if he's hitting leadoff this evening, I really like Lagares' value. It's no secret he's much more adept at hitting southpaws and he should be able to pick on Adam Morgan tonight.
