Below are my FanDuel lineup picks for Saturday, July 25th. My goal with these DFS picks, as always, is to try to choose players who will outperform their expectations. These players can be high-cost players, or they can be sleepers, but we are always looking for players that have a chance to return the greatest value on FanDuel. Additionally, since the weekends generally have many afternoon and night games, I’ll make an effort to distribute my picks to cover all the timeslots going forward so that if you are playing an afternoon/night only league this article will still be useful.
Daily fantasy baseball leagues (DFS) are becoming the thing to do, and here at RotoBaller we are excited to help our users build their bankrolls. I’ll be covering FanDuel lineup picks, sleepers and general advice every Saturday and Sunday. I’ll also be putting my money where my mouth is by entering my final lineup (at the bottom of the article) into one of FanDuel’s many daily fantasy contests, so that RotoBaller users can compete against me.
Editor’s Note: If you play on FanDuel, you should also check out RotoBaller’s DFS Partner DraftKings – they’rehosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It’s FREE to enter and pays out $60,000 in cash prizes!

Last Saturday’s Review
Entry: $1
Winnings: $2.50
Saturdays For the Season: +$7.78
Pick Highlights: Archer did his job on the mound for the most part, giving up just 2 earned over 7 innings while striking out 6. Most days, that is good enough for a win and an additional 4 points on top of his solid 11 point day. Other than that, the Orioles carried my offense with Hardy and Adam Jones putting up 6.5 and 8.5 respectively. Sleeper of the day Rob Refsnyder didn't do anything and ended up getting sent back down to the minors, but I expect he'll be called up in September, if not earlier.
Relationship Status: “We're back on the right track”
DFS Starting Pitchers To Consider for FanDuel
A.J. Burnett (SP, PIT) - $8,900
I know there are sexier options. Sure Greinke could be great against the Mets (if he comes back from paternity leave in time). Yes, Chris Sale could grab another 10+ K game -- Cleveland strikes out less than everyone but three teams in all of baseball. So I'm going with Burnett as my ace today. He's been a stud all year, he faces a banged up Nationals lineup, and he happens to own that Nationals lineup (.222/.283/.363 triple slash against).
Miguel Gonzalez (SP, BAL) - $7,500
If you are looking for a cheaper option Gonzalez should be your guy today. Gonzalez faces the downward-spiraling Tampa Bay Rays, who going into Friday night's game are 8-19 in their past 27 games. Those struggles can be attributed mainly to their pitiful offense, which is pumping out runs at a dismal rate of 3 per game. Gonzalez isn't a huge strikeout guy, but he should be able to rack up a few against the struggling Rays. I'm banking on a win here.
DFS Infielders To Consider for FanDuel
Albert Pujols (1B, LAA) - $4,200
Pujols has haunted almost every pitcher he has faced in his illustrious career, but he has done some real damage off of Yovani Gallardo. The MLB leader in home runs (29) has four career dingers off of Gallardo to go with his .444 average. Pujols is healthy again, and that means The Machine is back.
Jung-ho Kang (3B, PIT) - $3,000
It's a shame that Kang only qualifies at 3B. I hope he gets SS eligibility eventually, but regardless I'm going to use him in many lineups today. In his 12 games leading up to Friday night, Kang was hitting .409. Also going into Friday, Kang has two hits in each of his last five games. He has a little pop and a clear ability to get on base. He's a great value play.
Alex Rodriguez (3B, NYY) - $3,500
Rodriguez will also be in many of my lineups today. He has an .890 OPS this season against lefties, and he'll see precisely that in Tommy Milone.
DFS Outfielders To Consider for FanDuel
Chris Coghlan (OF, CHC) - $2,700
This is a pure bet on history. In a 26 at-bat sample against opposing pitcher Cole Hamels, Coghlan is hitting .346 with five extra base hits. Hamels has struggled in his past two starts, and maybe the trade deadline pressure gets to him in this game too.
Chris Young (OF, NYY) - $2,800
Chris Young can't hit righties. Chris Young can hit lefties. That's precisely why he'll be in the lineup on Saturday against Tommy Milone. He's hitting .371 with six homers in just 89 at-bats against left-handed pitching this season. If there is a lefty on the mound, Young is in the lineup mashing. Period.
FanDuel Sleeper Value of the Day
Alex Rios (OF, KC) - $2,700
Rios has a good career track record against opposing pitcher Scott Feldman, sporting a .838 OPS and three homers in 45 career at-bats. In general, the Royals have been good against Feldman, so I'm expecting run producing and scoring opportunities for Rios.
My DFS Lineup on FanDuel
Remember to check your lineups throughout the day. You never want to get a goose egg for a guy that didn’t play.
