Todd Gurley (RB, STL) - 2015 Fantasy Football Sleeper

BALLER MOVE: Target in 5th Round in Standard Leagues, First Round in Dynasty Leagues

CURRENT ADP: 47 STD, 48 PPR

ANALYSIS: Jeff Fisher, coach of the Rams, drafted Eddie George and Chris Johnson in past first rounds. The Rams picking Todd Gurley in the first round of the 2015 draft despite having Tre Mason, Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham on the roster. This shows how highly Fisher thinks of Gurley, who is actually often compared to George.

Players like Frank Gore, Edgerrin James and Willis McGahee -- all of whom had high vision skills like Gurley -- were able to withstand major career-impacting injuries before entering the NFL and excel.

With Gurley, you’re looking at a player who could be one of the top five running backs in the NFL, even as a rookie. He has great vision and patience, as well as the ability to make quick decisions. He breaks arm tackles, can carry defenders and bursts through the line. He makes defenders miss, and can turn backfield penetration into a positive gain. Sounds like a future top running back.

According to fantasyfootballcalculator.com, Gurley's current ADP is 6.04, which would make him the 28th running back off the board. If Gurley were to hit just the average numbers of previous years, you’re looking at 199 points in a non-ppr in a full year (149 if he misses the first month), which would make him the seventh best running back last year. This makes him an excellent value pick in the sixth round.
