FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers And Advice for 4/28/15

Editor’s Note: RotoBaller’s Premium DFS Lineup Picks & Tools help you get an edge for your FanDuel lineups with exclusive access to DFS tools and expert lineup picks. Also our DFS batters vs. pitchers tool helps you analyze today’s matchups and make optimal lineup decisions.

Full slate! There are a lot of stud pitchers throwing tonight. When that's the case, I try not to overspend because I think you can get a fine pitcher from the middle of the pack and use the extra dough to stack your lineup. Here are my Fanduel DFS lineup picks for Tuesday, April 28th, 2015.

Stacking Offenses to Target for FanDuel DFS

The consequence of so many strong pitching options to target is that there are less offenses to target for stacking opportunities. These are a few matchups I'll be taking an extra look at for cash games, though.

Detroit Tigers vs Mike Pelfrey

While Mike Pelfrey has been decent thus far in 2015, I don't like his chances against a Tiger club with the second best batting average (.292) against right-handed pitching and a .799 OPS. Vegas has set the over/under on this game at 8.5 - one of the highest of the day - and I think the Tigers do the majority of the scoring. A look at Pelfrey's secondary numbers reveals he's averaging just a shade under eight hits per nine innings and his strikeout numbers are less than intimidating. If I stack Tigers today, it will likely be some combination of Anthony Gose, J.D. Martinez and either Miguel Cabrera or Victor Martinez.

Cubs RHB vs Jeff Locke

This one may be a little but of a reach, but bear with me. The Cubs touched up Locke just a few days ago for four runs on seven hits over five innings in Pittsburgh. For his career, Locke has allowed an opponent BABIP over .300 and in 2014, his HR/FB ratio was over 13%. So long as the wind isn't blowing in this evening at Wrigley, I think we see a few balls leave the yard. If it happens to be blowing out, I'm grabbing at least three Cubs, targeting Jorge Soler, Kris Bryant and a darkhorse in Starlin Castro.

DFS Pitchers To Consider for FanDuel

Michael Wacha - P - Cardinals ($8,400)

Wacha isn't picking up strikeouts at the rate he was in 2014, but that's just fine with me when your walks are down and through three games, your ERA is 1.33 and opponents are hitting a paltry .195 against you. Add the weak Phillies lineup to this mix and Wacha makes for a fine play tonight - and a safer one - especially in cash games.

Tyson Ross - P - Padres ($8,400)

So he didn't pick up the win last night, but with 12 strikeouts in six innings, James Shields reminded us of the strikeout potential a pitcher has when facing off against the Astros. He has been a little off with his control this year (6.35 BB/9), but he's been equally devastating (especially with the hard slider) to hitters, averaging 11.12 K/9. I'm going to go with Ross in sheer terms of his upside tonight. Big strikeout potential and playing at home in pitcher-friendly Petco Park.

Johnny Cueto - P - Reds ($10,400)

Don't let his record fool you - Cueto has been terrific this year through four starts. He's mowing down batters at an even better clip than in 2014, and he's averaging less than six hits per nine innings. He's also allowed just one home run and with the hurting Brewers in town, I feel good about his chances for a win and 5-7 strikeouts, too.

DFS Catchers To Consider for FanDuel

Victor Martinez - C - Tigers ($3,400)

For what he should produce tonight in Minnesota, I think this is a pretty fair price for a guy who consistently produces and rarely strikes out. If Detroit can get to Pelfrey early, I'm envisioning a few at-bats for Martinez with ducks on the pond,

Stephen Vogt - C - Athletics ($3,100)

Not exactly the bargain I was hoping he'd be, but when you look at his splits against right-handed pitching (.291 average and eight home runs in 230 at-bats in 2014), it all starts to make sense. If he's hitting at the top of the order tonight - and he should be - I'm definitely playing him.

DFS Infielders To Consider for FanDuel

Miguel Cabrera - 1B - Tigers ($4,500)

Steep price, but he's hitting in the middle of one of the offenses I expect to produce pretty big this evening. He's also got the whole "best right-handed hitter in the game" thing going for him.

Brandon Moss - 1B - Indians ($3,500)

If you're looking to save a little cash at this position and go with a high upside guy for tournaments, Moss is your man. Twelve at-bats is a really small sample, but in those 12 matchups against Jeremy Guthrie, Moss has five hits and two home runs.

Jason Kipnis - 2B - Indians ($2,700)

Having a hard time figuring out why his price point is so low today. Nonetheless, he has owned Guthrie throughout his career, hitting .550 off him with two home runs in 21 plate appearances.

Devon Travis - 2B - Blue Jays ($3,200)

An awesome price for one of the hottest power hitters in the game. He's facing off against Clay Buchholz and I like his chances to leave the yard.

Starlin Castro - SS - Cubs ($3,300)

He's an over .300 hitter for his career against lefties and 6-for-12 on the young season.

Kris Bryant - 3B - Cubs ($3,500)

Today's the day Bryant hits his first major league home run. Let's hope the wind is blowing out and we get two of them instead.

DFS Outfielders To Consider for FanDuel

Nelson Cruz - OF - Mariners ($5,300)

I hate having to suggest guys that break the bank, but Boomstick is a must play against left-handed pitching.

Bryce Harper - OF - Nationals ($4,100)

Harper likely enjoys facing off against Julio Teheran far more than most of his National League counterparts. In 16 at-bats lifetime, he's collected seven hits and two home runs.

J.D. Martinez - OF - Tigers ($3,400)

The best bargain of the outfield group, Martinez has a .218 isolated power against right-handed pitching since 2014 and I think he sees increased RBI and run scoring chances tonight.
