Tennessee Titans Sign Wide Receiver Hakeem Nicks

If you're as big of a Hakeem Nicks fan as I am then you'd know how frustrating it's been to watch him try to get back to his old self these last few seasons. Riddled with injuries in his last two years with the New York Giants, Nicks found his way to the Indianapolis Colts to catch passes from Andrew Luck but he never re-emerged as an NFL star.

Nicks now moves on to the Tennessee Titans where he joins an extremely cluttered group of wide receivers that includes recently acquired Harry Douglas, Kendall Wright, Justin Hunter, and Clyde Gates just to name a few. The Titans have notoriously hoarded random wide receivers with potential without ever being able to fully utilize their respective talents. This move is essentially a lottery ticket for the Titans in the hopes that Nicks shows some sort of resemblance to the way he played from 2009-2011 with the Giants.

I wouldn't expect much out of him considering his health troubles and issues with consistent play. Throw in the fact that at this point in time no one has any idea who will be player quarterback for the Titans in 2015 and that just adds to the mystery that has become the Tennessee offense. It could anyone from Marcus Mariota to Zach Mettenberger to Philip Rivers to anyone in between. No one knows. Besides, the most talented and reliable pass catcher they have right now is Tight End Delanie Walker anyway.

I would just avoid paying any attention to Tennessee's receivers until we have some clarity from both the QB position as well as who will be playing what role among the team's wideouts.
