Marcus Stroman Tears ACL, Out for Season

Bad news for Toronto Blue Jays fans: Starting pitcher Marcus Stroman has torn his ACL and will miss the entire 2015 season.

According to the Blue Jays official Twitter, Stroman suffered the injury during a team practice earlier today. It is not entirely clear right now how the devastating injury was sustained. All that is known thus far is that it happened during a bunting drill Tuesday morning and the young hurler's season is prematurely finished.

Stroman was one of the most promising young starters in the league and was valued very high on many fantasy rankings, with an ADP of 158.12. Now the Blue Jays will have to go without their 2012 first-round pick. After posting stellar rookie numbers in 2014 (11-6, 3.65 ERA, 111 SO), Stroman will have to postpone his future until 2016. If you were one of many who had Stroman on your draft list (or, heaven forbid, as your rookie keeper) now is the time to look for other options.

The good news: this might lead to a spot in the rotation for recent sensation and fan favorite Daniel Norris, the Blue Jays prospect who lives in his 1978 Volkswagen Camper. Look for Norris to be a potential sleeper for the fifth spot in the Jays rotation. Also consider Aaron Sanchez and Marco Estrada as safer picks going into the draft. As of now, it is believed that the job is Sanchez's to lose.
