NBA DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers – FanDuel Advice for 2/25

All throughout the 2014-15 NBA campaign, RotoBaller will be analyzing the top NBA DFS lineup picks and providing our expert advice for the best sleepers at the guard, forward and center positions. Below are our favorite FanDuel DFS picks for February 25, 2015.

Keep in mind, fantasy basketball is a fickle game when it comes to injured players, so be sure to check all lineups prior to tip-off. If you want to chat about your roster picks, check out the DFS chat room at the bottom of this post.

Worth the Investment

No question about it, you want these guys on your team. Put them in first, and build around them.

Chris Paul (LAC, PG)

Paul has been on a tear since the Blake Griffin injury. He's putting up the same assist numbers as always, but taking a lot more shots. Paul reached 50 FDP in two of the last three games, and I expect this game to be a fast-paced scoring affair. You can confidently put this guy on your roster and hope that he and James Harden get into a shoot-out.

Gordon Hayward (UTA, SF)

Hayward scored 25.1 FDP on Monday against a stingy San Antonio Spurs defense. If there's one guy I'm willing to bet on Wednesday, it's him. On top of the fact that Hayward almost never scores less than 30 FDP in two consecutive games, the Los Angeles Lakers are awful. Build your Wednesday lineup around this guy's affordable $8,100 salary and get ready for a show. Let's just hope LA can keep the game relatively close.

Safer Bargains

These players are on the cheaper side, but you can expect some solid production from them with the potential for star-like numbers.

Deron Williams (BKN, PG)

Williams has put together two consecutive 40-FDP performances thanks to the absence of Jarrett Jack. Unfortunately for him, Jack plans to play on Wenesday, but how many minutes is still to be determined. Not only will Jack probably take it easy on the injured hamstring, but I don't see any reason why the Nets would steer away from Williams. I expect him to eclipse 30 minutes again and use his balanced attack to ruin an injury-plagued New Orleans Pelicans defense.

Terrence Jones (HOU, PF)

Since the Dwight Howard injury, Jones has seen continuously increasing minutes as well as production. He started on Monday and produced a 15/15/2 line. In a high-paced game against the Clippers on Wednesday, Jones should draw another start and has the opportunity to put up a double-double against the likes of Spencer Hawes and Glen Davis. The only potential hindrance for Jones would be if the Rockets stick him on DeAndre Jordan. If Jones gets in foul trouble you can throw his night out the window. Regardless, I'm going to ride this Jones hot streak for now.

High Risk, High Reward

These inexpensive picks are more trained for the tournament players. If you need to stand out from a crowd, these guys have the potential to hit 30 FDP. On the other hand, don't be surprised if they come up well short of that mark.

Jason Smith (NYK, PF)

The Knicks have been absolutely dismal all year. The losses of Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire certainly didn't help either. However, Jason Smith has shown sparks of brilliance in a few games recently. It's tough to find those games, but this could be one against a Boston Celtics front court that not only plays poor defensively, but is among the league leaders in getting blocked.

Alexis Ajinca (NOP, C)

Ajinca has proven he plays well when The Brow isn't in the lineup. Well, that's the case now AND Ryan Anderson is out. The Pelicans don't have much else as far as big men, so expect Ajinca to get plenty of minutes again on Wednesday. My only concerns for Ajinca are turnovers and foul trouble, but if he can play smart and stay on the floor he should give you at least 20 FDP. At his price of $4,300 you'll take that minimum with the hope that he has a huge game.

Avoid At All Costs

If it were up to me, these players would have a 0% usage.

Andrew Wiggins (MIN, SF)

A lot of FanDuelers are going to try to ride the Wiggins hot streak... I won't be one of them. Although Wiggins has been great the past few games while receiving increased minutes and shots, the Washington Wizards can be a very tough defensive team. I can see this game being slow and strategic, which is not Wiggins' forte. The likes of Paul Pierce, Nene Hilario, Marcin Gortat, and possibly Brad Beal are likely to focus on the rookie to limit his shots. Wiggins has shown a lot of skill and FanDuel value at times, but I'm steering clear of him Wednesday night.
