Worth the Investment
Jeff Teague (ATL, PG) - $7,700
The Atlanta Hawks may have just saw their month long winning streak come to an end, but they were quick to build up another one with a huge win against the Golden State Warriors. The offense has become even more Spurs-like than the Spurs themselves, and Teague continues to run it like a machine.
After a brief scoring slump, Teague has picked up the load again with averages of 23.3 points, 7.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game in his last three games. Teague has really solidified himself as a top ten fantasy point guard, and his All Star selection shows that people are taking notice.
Memphis may have the best defense in the league, but we can hope that even if Teague struggles to get it going against Tony Allen or Mike Conley, that he may rack up assists and still provide a great fantasy line.
Zach Randolph (MEM, PF) - $8,700
As good as Teague and the Hawks have been, their rebounding abilities are still among the lowest third in the league. The small frontcourt of Atlanta should have trouble containing Randolph, who will likely be matched up against an undersized Paul Millsap.
Averaging 16.9 points, and 12.0 rebounds per game on the year, Randolph has once again returned to his double-double ways since coming back from injury. Given his clear advantage on the interior as well as the Memphis offense running even better with the addition of Jeff Green, Randolph should see plenty of post-up plays run for him as well as offensive rebounding opportunities. Expect a big night from the undervalued power forward.
Nikola Vucevic (ORL, C) - $8,900
Vucevic should have been an All Star this year. His numbers are absolutely amazing as well as consistent. Having overtaken Marc Gasol on the player rater as the best fantasy center in the league, Vucevic is forcing people to notice his stellar stats.
Averaging 19.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game, Vucevic has provided consistently great production whenever he is on the court. His matchup against Chicago on Sunday should prove to be in his favor. In his last matchup against Pau Gasol and the Bulls, Vucevic scored 33 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.
Top Sleeper
Gerald Henderson (CHA, SF) - $5,300
With the injury to Kemba Walker, Henderson is seizing the opportunity and providing his team with plenty of scoring. Al Jefferson is still also trying to round back into form since his injury and has not been able to serve as Charlotte’s offensive focal point.
The team has really relied on Henderson to play well and provide stats in every category. In his last five games, Henderson has averaged 17.4 points, 3.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 0.8 blocks.
