ANALYSIS: We know the Buffalo Bills are not the first team defense that comes to mind when you're looking for a high upside fantasy football defense streamer for Week 7, but the harsh reality of the situation is that you've probably been sleeping on this very stout defense for a little too long. Let us all remember that they finished the 2013 season as the 10th overall defensive unit.
Although they aren't the toughest against the pass, they are as shut-down as they come versus opposing rushing attacks. They come to work in Week 7 allowing the 3rd fewest yards versus the run (405 total rushing yards against) and the leagues best yards per attempt average (2.8 anemic yards per attempt).
Read that again folks; because we're pretty sure you didn't know that Buffalo had the NFL's #1 run defense thus far in 2014. The good news is the Bills are facing the 23rd ranked Minnesota Vikings offense in western New York this week, and Jerick McKinnon is taking over starting running back duties from plodding specialist Matt Asiata.
Needless to say, the Vikings offense is in for a tough Week 7 and you're being urged to consider the Bills as your top waiver wire defense sleeper if you need some upside out of your fantasy roster.
