BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Marlon Byrd is one of those players that seems to go largely unnoticed in fantasy because, with the exception of 2013, he has never been an exciting player. Additonally he is now 36 years old. On the other hand Byrd is coming off a career year where he set new bests in WAR, HR and RBI. Now with the Phillies, Byrd has continued at close to the same pace as last year. Its always hard to project a guy Byrd's age to continue with his production but because he has been a very solid player for over a calendar year now, he is worth adding in many leagues. One undervalued aspect of Byrd is that the Phillies are not a great offensive team and as a result Byrd is hitting in the heart of the lineup. This has resulted in 22 RBI so far, a pace that easily breaks his previous high. Byrd isn't flashy but he is absolutely worth an add in all 12-team or deeper leagues if you need decent HR and solid RBI.
