BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Trevor Plouffe first caught the fantasy world's attention when he hit 24 HR in less than a full season in 2012. That kind of power is pretty useful for an infielder even if it does come at the cost of a lower batting average. This year Plouffe is performing well again but for completely different reasons. He has hit just one home run but has a .278 batting average and a .383 OBP due to a walk rate that is more than double what he posted in 2013. Its easy to say the walk rate will decrease, but the Twins as a whole have the highest walk rate in the majors this year at 12.5%. That is considerably higher than last year and appears to be a conscious effort on behalf of the Twins. Plouffe is also mashing doubles, a good sign that his power is still there. Plouffe's increase in walks looks somewhat real and the power will come back. That makes him a great add in any league and even a buy-low candidate if you can get him pretty cheap.
