Bubba Chandler, Pittsburgh Pirates
Currently At Triple-A
20% rostered
Bubba Chandler had another impressive outing this past week and continues to prove that he is ready for the major leagues. On April 25, Chandler tossed five one-hit innings against Triple-A St. Paul. In this outing, Chandler did not allow a run or a walk. He struck out four batters.
Through his first 20 1/3 innings of work this season (five starts), the No. 14-ranked prospect in the sport on MLB.com has posted a stellar 1.33 ERA with a 0.64 WHIP. He has shown elite command, striking out 27 batters and allowing just six free passes.
Chandler enjoyed similar success during his first taste of Triple-A last season, posting a 1.83 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP across 39 1/3 innings of work. During this stint, the right-hander tallied 54 punchouts and served up 15 walks.
He has yet to slow down and remains a must-stash option in all standard formats.
Bubba Chandler doesn’t need to be in AAA anymore
Call him up next homestand.
AAA is too easy for him.

Brandon Sproat, New York Mets
Currently At Triple-A
3% rostered
After showing steady progress at Triple-A over the past few weeks, the former Florida Gator took a step back in his most recent outing on April 24. In this start, Sproat allowed six hits and six runs across just two 1/3 innings of work. While this start was not ideal, and likely delayed his MLB debut slightly, fantasy managers should not be overly concerned.
Before this rough outing, the 24-year-old was showing significant growth at this level. Over his previous three starts, Sproat logged 14 1/3 innings to the tune of a 1.26 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP.
Last summer in Triple-A, he allowed 24 runs in just 28 innings of work. The right-hander has shown significant progress this season and remains in play for an early-season MLB debut despite his rough showing this week.
Zebby Matthews, Minnesota Twins
Currently At Triple-A
13% rostered
Zebby Matthews also had a disappointing outing this past week. On April 22, Matthews allowed a season-high seven hits with one run (zero earned) and held a 4:1 K:BB. Over his first three starts of the season (15 innings), the Western Carolina product had a 1.80 ERA with a 0.73 WHIP. During this stretch, the right-hander struck out 20 batters and served up just two walks.
Despite his strong play early in the season, the Twins have yet to call his name. When Pablo Lopez went on the 15-day injured list with a hamstring injury, the Twins opted to promote fellow young right-hander David Festa instead.
However, given his elite command, Matthews will be a must-start option when he returns to the major leagues. As a result, fantasy managers in standard formats should continue to stash the 24-year-old on their bench.
The next time Minnesota needs additional pitching depth, expect them to give Matthews the opportunity.
Ian Seymour, Tampa Bay Rays
Currently at Triple-A
1% rostered
Ian Seymour has made headlines at Triple-A this season due to his strikeout production and enjoyed another fantastic start this past week. Facing Triple-A Nashville, the Tampa Bay southpaw tossed five 1/3 innings of one-run ball and struck out nine batters. In this outing, Seymour tossed four hits and served up three walks.
Through 25 1/3 total innings this season, the 26-year-old has struck out 35 batters while allowing just seven walks. During this stretch, the left-hander has held an impressive 2.49 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP.
This is an excellent sign for Seymour as he is continuing to build off the success he enjoyed at Triple-A last season. During his time with the Durham Bulls during the 2024 campaign, Seymour struck out 63 batters across 54 innings. In this stint, he held a 2.33 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP.
The current No. 5 option in the Tampa Bay rotation, Zack Littell, has held a modest 5.28 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP across his first 29 innings this season. If Littell continues to struggle, expect the Rays to turn to their budding southpaw.

Cade Horton, Chicago Cubs
Currently At Triple-A
1% rostered
Rounding out this week's stash list is a name name in Cade Horton. Horton was on track to make his MLB debut during the 2024 season when he started the season holding a near-perfect 1.10 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP across his first 16 1/3 innings at Double-A. However, he was only able to log 18 innings with Triple-A Iowa before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.
However, despite entering camp with injury concerns, the former seventh overall pick has looked like his former self and is nearing his Cubs debut.
Through his first 17 innings of the season at Iowa, the right-hander has posted a strong 1.06 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP. During this stint, Horton has struck out 23 batters and served up 11 free passes. In his most recent outing on April 23, Horton did not allow a run for the second time this season.
Despite his steady progression, Horton may earn an early promotion due to the current state of the major league rotation. Left-handed pitcher Justin Steele (elbow) underwent season-ending UCL surgery, and right-handed pitcher Ben Brown has struggled at times in the rotation, allowing three or more runs in three outings.
In his most recent start, Brown allowed six runs and nine hits to the Philadelphia Phillies.
While the Cubs will continue to monitor Horton's workload, given the current state of the MLB pitching staff, they may have to call on him earlier than they had expected.
Cade Horton continues to excel in AAA this season. He fires off 4.2 scoreless innings today as his velocity looked strong and secondaries were stellar
