Allan Winans Strikes Out 10 On Wednesday At Triple-A
49 seconds agoNew York Yankees minor-league pitcher Allan Winans fanned 10 of the first 11 batters he faced in Wednesday's start for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The one batter he didn't strike out in that span drew a walk, and once he allowed a walk and a hit to the 12th and 13th batters, the righty was pulled from the game, finishing with the 10 Ks in three-and-two-thirds innings pitched. At 29 years old, he can hardly be considered a prospect anymore, but the 6-foot-2 hurler has just 40 major league innings to his name. Still, if the Yankees are looking for some help in the starting rotation, they could look to give Winans a shot. So far in his limited three-start sample in 2025, he has yet to allow an earned run on six hits and five walks while striking out 20 hitters in nine-and-a-third innings pitched. The strikeout potential is intriguing for fantasy, however, managers in most leagues would likely want to have him prove it in the majors before deciding to roster him, if he were to be called up at some point.
