Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen (knee) will miss Wednesday's matchup against the Colorado Avalanche. The star blue-liner is trending in the right direction and was on the ice for the morning skate, but he isn't quite ready to play. "He's getting closer," Stars head coach Pete DeBoer said Wednesday. With Heiskanen still sidelined, the Stars will hope to get another big shift from Thomas Harley. He has recorded two points (one goal, one assist) and six blocks in the first two games of the series, averaging 31:44 of ice time. Heiskanen's next opportunity to return will be on Saturday night in Game 4.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen (knee) will remain sidelined for Game 4 against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night. The Finnish blue-liner has resumed skating and traveled with the team to Denver, but his absence will extend to 35 consecutive games. Heiskanen's next opportunity to return will be on Monday when the series shifts back to Dallas for Game 5. Thomas Harley and Esa Lindell will continue to eat up big minutes in defense until Heiskanen returns. The former leads all skaters on the team with an average ice time of 31:05 and has also recorded the most points with three (one goal, two assists) in the postseason.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen (knee) will remain out for Monday's Game 2 against the Colorado Avalanche. Heiskanen participated in the morning skate for the second consecutive game, but he is still considered day-to-day and isn't ready to play. With Heiskanen unavailable, Thomas Harley carried the blue line in Saturday's Game 1, leading all skaters in ice time with 27:34. He recorded a power-play assist on the team's lone goal in a 5-1 loss. Harley spent over five minutes of action with the man advantage and logged 2:12 on the penalty kill. The 23-year-old is likely in for another busy night on Monday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen (knee) has been upgraded to day-to-day as the team gets ready to open its playoff campaign against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. Heiskanen skated on Saturday morning but wore a non-contact jersey and has been ruled out for Game 1 of the series. However, he is making progress and appears to be on track to return to the lineup soon. Next, Stars head coach Pete DeBoer wants to see the Finnish blue-liner participate in a full-contact practice session. Heiskanen underwent knee surgery in February, finishing the regular season with 25 points (five goals, 20 assists) and 85 blocks in 50 games.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen (knee) could miss the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Heiskanen underwent knee surgery in early February and is still several weeks away from a potential return. Bruce LeVine of the Dallas Stars noted that Heiskanen is working out in the gym but not on the ice. Before his injury, Heiskanen tallied 25 points (five goals) across 50 contests. During this stretch, the 25-year-old tallied 108 shots on goal, 17 hits, and 85 blocked shots. While Heiskanen has been sidelined, Thomas Harley has moved up the depth chart and played on the top defensive pairing and power-play unit. Harley has filled in quite well, and tallied 15 points (five goals) over his last 15 contests. Fantasy managers should continue to view Harley as a top defenseman in all formats, given his scoring upside.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
