Brock Purdy Reports For OTA's Amid Contract Discussions
Brock Purdy reported to the start of the team's offseason activities, according to NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero. The 2022 seventh-round pick is entering the final season of his rookie deal and is slated to earn $5.35 million in base salary. Purdy, who has thrown for 9,518 yards, 64 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions in 40 career games, is making well below the starting quarterback market as a clear starter, and he could receive a lucrative extension this offseason. Entering 2025, Purdy will be without Deebo Samuel Sr., who was traded to the Washington Commanders. Additionally, Brandon Aiyuk (knee) could miss the start of the season after suffering a torn ACL in 2024. Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall could be his top two wideouts to begin the year, but the Niners could be aggressive in targeting a wideout in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Brock Purdy Might Not Participate In Voluntary Workouts
Brock Purdy, who is seeking a new long-term contract, will show up for voluntary activities, according to The Athletic's Michael Silver. The 49ers' offseason program begins on Tuesday. Silver also reports that there has been some progress toward a multi-year extension for Purdy that will likely pay him more than $50 million per season. However, it remains to be seen just how much progress has been made. If the 25-year-old shows up on Tuesday, it will be a sign that he and his agent think they are close to reaching a deal. If the former seventh-rounder is absent, it will probably indicate that some obstacles remain. Purdy wasn't quite as good in 2024, but the Niners also dealt with some key injuries to playmakers around him on offense. He could easily bounce back in 2025, though, and will be in play as a low-end QB1 in fantasy drafts this fall.

49ers Optimistic On Getting Extension Done With Brock Purdy
Brock Purdy still have yet to finalize a long-term contract extension this offseason, owner Jed York expressed optimism on Tuesday that the two sides are close to getting something done. "I think (contract talks have) been good," York said. "It's not conversations that I'm having. He's got to make a decision with what he wants to do. I don't think we're that far apart. I think we can sit down and get something done. Whenever he's ready, we're ready." Purdy still has one year left on his extremely affordable rookie contract, so technically the Niners don't need to be in a rush to extend him. However, the 49ers want to reward the 25-year-old after he made just $985,000 in 2024. Even though the Niners and Purdy had a down year last season and missed the playoffs, his new extension is expected pay him north of $50 million per year.

49ers Start Contract Talks With Brock Purdy
Brock Purdy on long-term contract extension. Despite a down year in 2024 in which he threw for 3,864 yards (career-low 65.9 completion percentage), 20 touchdowns and a career-high 12 interceptions in 15 starts, the 49ers are fully committed to the former seventh-round selection and have every intention of locking him into a long-term extension early this offseason. The speculation around the league is that Purdy will be making $55-60 million per year once he officially signs an extension with the Niners. Even in his down year in 2024, Purdy finished as the QB13 in fantasy and could easily bounce back in 2025 if running back Christian McCaffrey (knee) can stay healthy for a full season.

49ers Committed To Brock Purdy
Brock Purdy around long-term. "I know we want Brock to be here for a long time and we'll do everything we can to make that work," York said Monday. After selecting Purdy with the final pick of the 2022 draft, he has led them to two playoff appearances, including a Super Bowl, in his three years in the league. Now eligible for a new contract, the 49ers have remained committed to giving the 25-year-old a big contract he deserves. Both sides have been in talks on an extension, with Purdy saying last month that he wanted something "done quick" so that negotiations didn't extend into the offseason program. Even though Purdy's numbers dipped in 2024, he could land a deal worth more than $55 million per season. Purdy had career-lows in completion percentage (65.9), passer rating (96.1) and TD-to-interception ratio (20-12).
