Joe Boyle Named International League Pitcher Of The Week
1 min agoTampa Bay Rays right-handed pitcher Joe Boyle has continued to impress at Triple-A Durham and was named International League Pitcher of the Week. On April 19, Boyle tossed six no-hit innings en route to earning his first victory of the season against Scranton. In this outing, Boyle struck out seven batters and served up just two walks. Through three total outings (14 innings), Boyle has struck out 17 batters and held a 1.29 ERA with a 0.93 WHIP. Boyle was given a look in the majors on April 13 and performed very well as he tossed five innings of two-run ball (zero earned) against the Atlanta Braves. Boyle is a name to monitor in deeper formats as the Rays may opt to give the 25-year-old an extended look in the majors if he continues to flash high strikeout upside at Triple-A.
