Spencer Schwellenbach Notches Quality Start Vs. Cardinals
28 seconds agoAtlanta Braves right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach turned in a quality start in a 7-6 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday. Schwellenbach allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits over seven innings while striking out five and walking none but had to settle for a no-decision. The 24-year-old right-hander picked up nine swinging strikes in the outing while showing his typical excellent command with no walks issued. Schwellenbach now has a 1-1 record, 2.56 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and 27 strikeouts over 31 2/3 innings of work this season. His next start will come against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday.
