Chase Burns Promoted To Double-A
20 seconds agoThe Cincinnati Reds are promoting pitching prospect Chase Burns to Double-A Chattanooga. Burns is slated to make his debut at this level on Saturday. The Reds drafted Burns with the second overall pick in last year's MLB Draft out of Wake Forest. He made his professional debut earlier this season with High-A Dayton and needed just three starts to prove he was ready for Double-A. Through his first three starts (11 2/3 innings), the hard-throwing right-hander has held a 3.09 ERA with a 0.86 WHIP. He struck out 20 batters and served up five free passes. He has tallied at least seven punchouts in each of his last two outings. However, he has yet to log over four innings in a start. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his progression at Double-A, as he could be in the mix for a relatively early promotion to Triple-A if he continues this current pace.
