Cody Poteet Promoted To Major Leagues
17 seconds agoBaltimore Orioles right-handed pitcher Cody Poteet has been recalled from Triple-A Norfolk. In a corresponding move, the Orioles optioned pitching prospect Brandon Young to Triple-A. Young made his MLB debut on Saturday and allowed seven hits and three runs across four innings of work. Poteet joined Baltimore in March via a trade from the Chicago Cubs. Last summer, Poteet logged 24 1/3 innings with the New York Yankees and held a 2.22 ERA with a 1.07 WHIP. He struck out 16 batters and was deployed out of both the rotation and the bullpen. Fantasy managers should expect Poteet to likely operate out of the bullpen, but he could be given a few spot starts in Baltimore. Through 83 career innings in the major leagues, Poteet has posted a 3.80 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP.
