Welcome to another Sunday edition of the RotoBaller MLB DFS picks! In this piece, I will break down my top pitchers and hitters to target on this slate. On the hitting side, we have a potential high-scoring affair in Boston between the Red Sox and the White Sox and a Coors Field matchup, which is only included on the FanDuel slate.
On the pitching side, we have an action-packed slate featuring some of the top arms in the sport, including reigning AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal and Philadelphia southpaw Jesus Luzardo, who has put himself as an early favorite for the NL Cy Young.
This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/20/2025, with the slate starting at 1:35 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will feature elite players, mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Jesus Luzardo, PHI vs. Miami Marlins ($9.5K DK/$10.6K FD)
Jesus Luzardo enters this matchup as one of the top pitchers in the National League. Over his first three 23 2/3 innings of work, Luzardo has struck out 29 batters impressively while holding a strong 2.31 ERA with a 1.07 WHIP. He has tallied at least eight punchouts in two of his starts.
Even though the Marlins have posted the seventh-lowest strikeout rate against southpaws this season, Luzardo's strikeout upside should offset this. In addition, Miami has posted the 13th-lowest ISO against left-handers.
Tarik Skubal, DET vs. Kansas City Royals ($11K DK/$10.4K FD)
My other pitcher to target is one of the best in the business. After allowing seven runs over his first two starts, Skubal has flipped the script quite quickly, logging 13 straight shutout innings. During this stretch, he has struck out 15 batters and not allowed a walk.
This afternoon, he will face the Royals, who have generated the sixth-lowest ISO and 15th-lowest wRC+ against southpaws.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):
- Max Fried, NYY ($9.7K DK/$10.8K FD)
- Tyler Glasnow, LAD ($10.1K DK/$9.3K FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Gunnar Henderson, SS, BAL ($5.5K DK/$3.5K FD)
After starting a bit slow due to battling a minor intercostal injury, Gunnar Henderson has begun to find his footing. Entering Saturday, Henderson posted a strong .333/.333/.667 slash line with two doubles and a long ball over his last five games. Then on Saturday, he launched his second long ball of the season and added a double.
Even though the Reds have not announced who will take the mound this afternoon, Henderson is one of the safest plays on this slate.

Rafael Devers, 3B, BOS ($4.6K DK/$3.2K FD)
After a disastrous start to the season, Rafael Devers has begun to find his footing at the plate. Over his last 12 games, entering Saturday, Devers held a .267/.346/.400 line with six doubles.
He should be in a prime position to stay hot at the plate facing Chicago right-hander Sean Burke. Burke throws his fastball 36.6 percent of the time, which should set Devers up for success as he mashes right-handed fastballs, posting an elite .792 xSLG with a .506 xwOBA. Devers should also find success against his second-most used pitcher (slider), in which he has generated a high .633 xSLG against, when thrown by right-handers.
Trea Turner, SS, PHI ($5.2K DK/$3.1K FD)
Connor Gillispie throws his sweeper 32.1 percent of the time, which should provide an excellent opportunity for Trea Turner. When facing sweepers from right-handed pitching this season, Turner has generated an impressive .541 xSLG. Turner has been off to a slow start this season, but has found success against sweepers.
Entering Saturday, Turner has tallied at least one hit in all but two games since April 8.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):
- Ryan Mountcastle, 1B, BAL ($4K DK/$2.6K FD)
- Alex Bregman, 2B (DraftKings Only)/3B, BOS ($5K DK/$3.2K FD)
- Bryson Stott, 2B/SS (FanDuel Only), PHI ($4.2K DK/$2.8K FD)
- Josh Bell, 1B, WSH (FanDuel only $3.2K)
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Kyle Schwarber, OF, PHI ($6.1K DK/$4.3K FD)
While Kyle Schwarber has had more success against left-handers this season, he should not be faded in this matchup against Gillispie. When facing sweepers from right-handed pitching (Gillispie's most-used pitch), the power-hitter has generated an elite .572 xSLG.
Schwarber has also mashed fastballs from right-handers (Gillispie's second-most used pitch), posting an elite 1.008 xSLG and a .608 xwOBA.

Wilyer Abreu, OF, BOS ($4.7K DK/$3.2K FD)
Wilyer Abreu has cooled down since his incredible start, but he should be in a prime position to get back on track facing Burke. When facing right-handed pitchers this season, Abreu has posted a .321/.433/.571 line.
Abreu should find success against both of Burke's most-used pitches this afternoon. When facing sliders from right-handers, Abreu has generated an elite .825 xSLG. When facing fastballs, he holds a strong .494 xSLG.
Austin Hays, OF, CIN ($3.5K DK/$2.7K FD)
Austin Hays has enjoyed a strong start to the campaign since returning from the injured list. Over his first four games of the campaign, Hays has tallied at least one hit in each game and has gone deep twice. Hays has been put in the cleanup spot twice and has had prime RBI opportunities.
This afternoon, he will face Charlie Morton, who enters this contest with a hefty 8.84 ERA and a 1.91 WHIP. Look for Hays and the Reds to continue their hot hitting against Morton in this one.
An absolute missile from Tyler O'Neill to gun down Austin Hays at home plate.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):
- Aaron Judge, OF, NYY ($6.5K DK/$4.6K FD)
- Cedric Mullins OF, BAL ($5.1K DK/$3.6K FD)
- James Wood, OF, WSH (FanDuel only $4K)
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
1. Boston Red Sox vs. Sean Burke
My top stack this afternoon is the Boston Red Sox against Chicago right-hander Burke. Burke enters Sunday carrying a 9.39 xERA and a .317 xBA, which place him in the second and eighth percentiles, respectively.
His four-seamer (most-used pitch) has generated a hefty .707 xSLG. If the Red Sox are sitting on the fastball early, they could put up a crooked number here against Burke and a bad Chicago bullpen.
Favorite Combo: Devers, Abreu, Bregman, Campbell
2. Philadelphia Phillies vs. Connor Gillispie
The high-flying Phillies will face Miami right-hander Gillispie, who has posted an underwhelming 6.63 ERA with a 1.37 WHIP. He relies heavily on his sweeper, which has generated a .472 xSLG and a low 19.1 percent whiff rate.
In his last start, he stumbled against the Arizona Diamondbacks, allowing eight hits and eight runs across five innings.
Favorite Combo: Turner, Schwarber, Stott, Harper
3. Cincinnati Reds vs. Charlie Morton
The 41-year-old right-hander enters this contest holding a hefty 8.84 ERA with a 1.91 WHIP. Across 18 1/3 innings of work, Morton has generated a poor 5.37 xERA and a .276 xBA, which are both well below the average marks.
His primary pitch, his curveball, has been very ineffective, generating a .633 xSLG with a .534 wOBA. As a team, the Reds have generated the 11th-highest BABIP against right-handed pitching.
Favorite Combo: Hays, Friedl, De La Cruz, Lux
