Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe (upper body) is poised to re-enter the lineup for Game 1 against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday. Due to an upper-body injury, McCabe could not play in the final seven regular-season games. McCabe has enjoyed a highly effective campaign in 2024-25, recording 23 points (two goals, 21 assists) in 66 appearances, along with 135 blocks, 118 hits, and a plus-23 rating. In Saturday's practice, McCabe partnered with Chris Tanev on the second defensive pairing. The Maple Leafs defense may also see Oliver Ekman-Larsson (upper body) return on Sunday. The Swedish blue-liner was present in Saturday's practice after sitting out four games at the end of the regular season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe (undisclosed) will withdraw from the lineup for Saturday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was injured Wednesday night against the Florida Panthers and will be unavailable for at least one game due to an unspecified ailment. Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube considers McCabe day-to-day. The 31-year-old is second on the team with 135 blocks and fourth with 118 hits. He also sometimes chips in offensively, boasting 23 points (two goals, 21 assists) through 66 appearances. Philippe Myers, who has registered four points (one goal, three assists), 34 blocks, and 66 hits in 29 appearances, is set to fill in for McCabe on the third defensive pairing.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe (undisclosed) exited Wednesday's contest against the Florida Panthers early with an undisclosed injury. After the contest, head coach Craig Berube did not provide an update on his status. McCabe suffered this injury towards the end of the final frame as he logged over 24 minutes of ice time and tallied one helper with three hits. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to their next contest on Saturday evening against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Over his past seven contests, McCabe has tallied six helpers, held a +1 rating, and logged 12 hits and 14 blocked shots. Through 66 total games, McCabe has logged an impressive 118 hits and 135 blocks with 23 total points.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

According to the team, Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe (upper body) exited early during Sunday's overtime victory against the Philadelphia Flyers. McCabe appeared to have sustained the injury late in the opening frame. Before exiting, the 31-year-old tallied one hit with seven penalty minutes. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the time being. McCabe has been typically deployed on the second pairing alongside Chris Tanev. While he has only tallied 11 points through 36 games, he has provided strong value in deeper category formats as he has tallied 32 penalty minutes, 72 hits and 68 blocks. If McCabe were unable to play Tuesday evening, Connor Timmins will likely draw into the starting lineup.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
