Jett Williams Goes Deep, Swipes A Bag
19 seconds agoNew York Mets infield prospect Jett Williams went 2-for-5 with a home run and a stolen base during their contest on Thursday against Double-A Reading. This outing extended Williams' current hitting streak to three games. Through his first 10 games of the Double-A campaign, Williams has tallied at least one hit in all but two games. He has gone deep twice and swiped two bags, and posted an overall .256/.310/.487 line. Last season, the former 14th overall pick was limited by numerous injuries, appearing in only 33 MiLB games. During this small sample, he spent most of his time with Double-A Binghamton and held an underwhelming .172/.287/.241 line. However, Williams has already begun to turn the corner at Double-A early this season. If he continues to perform, he should be in the mix to move up to Triple-A in the coming months.
