Ottawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot (rest) will not play on Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 28-year-old will get some time off to rest ahead of the postseason. Chabot will step out of the lineup while riding high on an impressive six-game point streak, during which he has collected three goals and seven assists. For the season, Chabot has notched 45 points (nine goals, 36 assists) in 80 contests. Artem Zub (rest) will also sit out Thursday's game, while Jake Sanderson (rest) and Nick Jensen (rest) will return to the fold.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Ottawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot (illness) exited Wednesday's contest against the Chicago Blackhawks early. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to their next contest on Saturday afternoon against the New York Rangers. He was only able to log 14 minutes of ice time before exiting. He did not get on the scoresheet but added one shot on goal and one blocked shot. If Chabot were to sit out on Saturday, Jacob Bernard-Docker would draw into the starting lineup. Before Wednesday's contest, Chabo tallied 10 points (two goals, eight helpers) over his last 12 contests. During this stretch he tallied 37 shots on goal and 20 blocked shots. If Chabot were to miss time, fantasy managers should expect Jake Sanderson to have an even larger role on the power-play.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Ottawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot (face) will miss Thursday's game against Washington. Chabot was hit in the face by a puck on Tuesday against the Islanders and will step out of the lineup for the first time this season. It has not been a good year for Chabot, as the 27-year-old has contributed only three goals and 16 assists in 43 games. Donovan Sebrango has been summoned from the minors to step in for Chabot on Thursday. He will join Nick Jensen on the second defensive pairing. Sebrango, who has just turned 23, will make his NHL debut against the Capitals. He has notched 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in 28 AHL outings this term.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

According to the team, Ottawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot (head) exited early during Tuesday's contest for precautionary reasons. The 27-year-old was struck by a puck in the face during the opening frame. Before leaving, Chabot logged just four minutes of ice time and tallied one hit and one blocked shot. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to Thursday's game against the Washington Capitals. Over his previous four complete games, Chabot has tallied a goal and an assist with ten shots, three hits, and three blocks. If Chabot were to miss time, 23-year-old Maxence Guenette would likely be promoted from the AHL to fill the spot in the lineup.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Ottawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot (undisclosed) and forwards Brady Tkachuk (upper body) and Tim Stutzle (upper body) returned to practice earlier this week and could play in one of the final preseason games this weekend, according to Claire Hanna of TSN Sports. Hanna noted that head coach Travis Green said he is not "overly concerned" with their status. This is an excellent sign as all three skaters are on track to be ready for the season opener on Thursday when they host the Stanley Cup Champion, Florida Panthers. Both Tkachuk and Stutzle are slated to play on the top line alongside Claude Giroux, while Chabot will play on the second pair with Nick Jensen to open the season.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
