Zebby Matthews Strikes Out Seven On Tuesday
3 days agoMinnesota Twins right-handed pitcher Zebby Matthews tossed five innings of one-run ball during his latest start with Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday evening. He allowed four hits, one walk, and struck out seven. Matthews has enjoyed a dominant start to the Triple-A regular season and is nearing a return to the major leagues. Over his first three starts, the right-hander has posted a stellar 1.80 ERA with a 0.73 WHIP. Across 15 innings, the Western Carolina product has struck out 20 batters and served up just two free passes. Matthews received a brief taste of the majors last summer but appears to have taken the next step in his development this season. Fantasy managers in standard formats should view Matthews as a strong stash candidate, as he could join Minnesota fairly soon with Pablo Lopez (hamstring) on the 15-day injured list.
