Owen Power To Miss Rest Of Regular Season
6 days agoBuffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power (lower body) will be out of action for the remainder of the regular season. He suffered a lower-body injury on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning and is sitting out a second consecutive game on Tuesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. "Don't really have a time frame yet, but it looks to be [serious]," Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff said about Power's injury. "We'll have more information, a further follow-up today and the next couple days." Power posted a career-high 40 points (seven goals, 33 assists) in 79 games with 139 shots and 109 blocks. In Power's absence, Jacob Bryson has rejoined the lineup.

Owen Power Unlikely To Play Sunday
1 week agoBuffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power (lower body) is set to miss Sunday's contest against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Power suffered a lower-body injury in Saturday's loss to the Florida Panthers, and Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff said postgame that he is unlikely to play on Sunday. In recent games, Power has been quiet, but overall, it has been a decent season for him. The 22-year-old has notched 40 points (seven goals, 33 assists) in 79 outings, firing off 139 shots on goal and blocking 109 attempts from the opposition. Jacob Bryson, who has recorded seven assists in 45 appearances, is likely to replace Power in the lineup against the Lightning.

Owen Power Picks Up Two Points In Losing Effort
4 months agoBuffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power registered a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Rangers. The 22-year-old was benched for most of the first period after Mika Zibanejad scored the game's opening goal on the power play off Power's mistake, but he bounced back well. Rasmus Dahlin's (back) absence has given Power a larger role on the Sabres blue line lately, and he's responded with a three-game point streak. Power boasts 19 points (four goals, 15 assists) in 29 games for the season, having done all of his scoring during even-strength play. His contributions include a team-high 47 blocks.

Owen Power Tallies Two Helpers On Friday
5 months agoBuffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power tacked on two helpers in their overtime victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday evening. Power's first point came on Jason Zucker's game-tying goal late in the second frame. Then, in overtime, Power tallied the primary assist on Jiri Kulich's game-winner. In this game, Power also posted a +3 rating with three shots on goal. Since November 9, Power has tallied six points through six games, all being assists. Through 20 total games this season, the former first-overall selection has registered 15 points, with three being goals. Fantasy managers should continue to expect the 21-year-old to see consistent playing time on the second pairing and second power-play unit which should continue to provide him with ample playing time to enjoy a breakout campaign.

Owen Power A Game-Time Call Sunday
1 year agoBuffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power (hand) could be back in action on Sunday versus Carolina. Power has missed six games, but he's been practicing since Wednesday, albeit in a non-contact jersey. "He needs to be cleared and we'll find out right now," Sabres head coach Don Granato said Sunday morning. "But he's very, very close, if not tonight. So I wouldn't rule him out yet." The 21-year-old has posted 18 points (two goals, 16 assists) in 51 games during his sophomore campaign. Henri Jokiharju's playing time will take a hit once Power is back.
