Korey Lee Lands On 10-Day Injured List
1 week agoThe Chicago White Sox placed catcher Korey Lee (ankle) on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with a left-ankle sprain and recalled catcher Omar Narvaez from Double-A Birmingham in a corresponding move. Lee suffered his ankle sprain in Wednesday's loss to the Cleveland Guardians. The injury isn't considered all that serious, so the 26-year-could be back with the team when he's eligible to come off the IL. The former first-rounder went 5-for-15 with two doubles, an RBI and three runs scored in nine games before his injury on Wednesday. Matt Thais is starting behind the plate on Thursday and is batting cleanup for the Pale Hose against the Guardians in the series finale. Expect him to receive the majority of starts at catcher in Chicago while Lee is sidelined, with Narvaez backing him up. Thaiss has started his first season in Chicago by going 4-for-19 with a double and two RBI in nine games.
