Xander Bogaerts Collects Three Hits In Wednesday's Win
1 week agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Xander Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored for the Padres in Sacramento on Wednesday, and since the team only had two runs, he played a huge part in securing the 2-1 victory that also secured the series win. Bogaerts hit second in the order on Thursday but has typically been hitting fourth or sixth. He has played in all 13 of the Padres' games this season, logging every inning at shortstop and going 14-for-46 (.304) with three stolen bases, four doubles, and seven runs scored. His production is a little inflated due to a .378 BABIP, but he has done a good job contributing to the Padres' strong start to the season and is a serviceable option for NL leagues, even though he hasn't shown much power yet this year.
