C.J. Kayfus Hits First Long Ball Of The Season
1 week agoCleveland Guardians first base prospect C.J. Kayfus went 4-for-5 with a double and a home run on Wednesday evening. This was his first round-tripper of the regular season. In this contest, he also tallied three RBI and scored three runs. Kayfus has enjoyed an impressive start to the Double-A season. Through the first five games, the former third-round pick from the 2023 MLB Draft has tallied at least one hit in each contest. He has posted four multi-hit games and tallied four total extra-base hits. He has also held a solid 3:4 BB:K. Last season, Kayfus split time between High-A and Double-A. With High-A Lake County, he enjoyed a strong start, posting a .338/.437/.578 line. However, he saw his production decline during his first taste of Double-A, holding a .263/.366/.470 line. He could push for a mid-season Triple-A debut if he continues to produce well with Akron.
