Moises Ballesteros Picking Up Where He Left Off Last Season
Moises Ballesteros went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base on Tuesday for Triple-A Iowa. It was the diminutive backstop's third multi-hit performance in seven games so far this season, now slashing .300/.344/.433 on the season, seemingly picking up right where he left off last season. He hasn't hit a home run yet after belting 19 last season, but with two steals in 2025, he's already surpassed last season's total. Unlike last season, however, the left-handed hitter doesn't have an apparent path to at-bats with both major league catchers hitting well, as is the Cubs' DH and first baseman, which would have been his alternatives. Nevertheless, the Venezuelan has hit at every stop in the minors and usually against pitchers much older than him. Still only 21, expect the Cubs fourth-ranked prospect to debut sometime in 2025 and could be viable for fantasy if he somehow earns regular at-bats.
