Jake Rogers Goes On 10-Day Injured List
1 week agoThe Detroit Tigers placed catcher Jake Rogers (oblique) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a left-oblique strain and recalled catcher Tomas Nido up from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move. The Tigers also shifted outfielder Wenceel Perez (back) to the 60-day injured list to make room for Nido on the 40-man roster. Rogers lands on the IL after injuring himself taking swings before Tuesday's win over the visiting New York Yankees. Dillon Dingler, who homered on Tuesday, will now take over as Detroit's primary backstop. It's unclear if the 29-year-old Rogers will be able to return when he's eligible to come off the IL on April 18. Before his injury on Tuesday, Rogers had gone 4-for-18 with a triple, three runs scored, four walks and five strikeouts in six games played. Dingler is now on the radar for those in two-catcher and AL-only leagues.
