The seventh-inning blast extended the Padres' lead to 5-3 at the time, but the Athletics rallied to within 5-4 in the bottom of the inning, making Tatis's home run ultimately the difference in the team's one-run victory. The win moved the Padres to 9-2 in the ultra-competitive NL West.
