Logan VanWey Called Up By Astros For MLB Debut
5 days agoThe Houston Astros have called up relief pitcher Logan VanWey from Triple-A Sugar Land. The 26-year-old would be making his first big league appearance whenever he enters a game. The righty spent all of 2024 at Triple-A, recording a 3.22 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 98 strikeouts over 72 2/3 innings of work (31.5 percent K%), however, he owned a 12.9 percent BB%. So far in 2025, the 6-foot-2 hurler owns a 2:7 BB:K over four innings pitched, and the Astros will hope he brings his strong strikeout stuff to the majors. For fantasy, however, he's off the fantasy radar in all but the deepest of leagues. Luis Contreras, who allowed five earned runs in four appearances for Houston, was sent to Triple-A in a corresponding move.
