Christine De Nicola of MLB.com reported that Edwards initially suffered this injury during the second game of the season and reaggravated it on Saturday. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status leading up to their next game on Monday evening against the New York Mets. Instead, the Marlins will turn to Javier Sanoja to serve as their shortstop. He will bat ninth. Through the first nine games of the regular season, Edwards has posted a .250/.317/.333 slash line with three doubles, a 4:10 BB:K, and two stolen bases. He enjoyed an impressive finish to the 2024 season, swiping 31 bags with a .328 AVG across 70 contests.
