5 days agoVancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers (undisclosed) is unlikely to play on Saturday against the Anaheim Ducks. "Something happened last game," Canucks head coach Tocchet said on Friday. "Tried to play through it, that's 'Mysie,' but we shut him down the last 12. Probably won't play tomorrow." The games are coming thick and fast as the end of the regular season approaches, and Myers may also be unavailable for Sunday's contest against the Vegas Golden Knights. The towering defenseman has notched 24 points (six goals, 18 assists) in 71 appearances, blocking 125 shots and delivering 87 hits. Victor Mancini will likely be inserted into the lineup for Saturday's action. In nine outings with the Canucks, Mancini has managed two assists with 14 blocks, and 13 hits.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoVancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers (undisclosed) is expected to return to action on Saturday against the Chicago Blackhawks. He didn't play on Wednesday versus the Calgary Flames due to an undisclosed injury. On Friday, Myers was back in practice, and he will likely replace Elias Pettersson in the Canucks defense on Saturday. Myers plays a solid two-way game and has done a little bit of everything in 2024-25. With 61 games played, he is sitting on 21 points (four goals, 17 assists), 67 shots, 108 blocks, and 73 hits. In Saturday's game, Myers will be reunited with Marcus Pettersson on the second defensive pairing.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 months agoVancouver Canuck defenseman Tyler Myers has been suspended for three games. The 34-year-old was punished for cross-checking Edmonton defenseman Evan Bouchard to the head in Saturday's 3-2 win. As a result of the suspension, Myers will have to sit out Tuesday's clash with Buffalo, a rematch against the Oilers on Thursday, and Saturday's contest versus Washington. He is eligible to return to action on Jan. 27 against St. Louis. This is his third career suspension. The Canucks have called up Mark Friedman from the minors as a potential replacement for Myers. However, Noah Juulsen (undisclosed) is also an option. He has missed two games due to an undisclosed injury but is considered day-to-day.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

6 months agoVancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers (lower body) will play against Tampa Bay on Tuesday. He saw just 36 seconds of action in the previous game against Philadelphia due to a lower-body injury, but Myers has shaken off the ailment ahead of Tuesday's matchup. The towering blue-liner will skate in his usual spot on the second defensive pairing next to Carson Soucy. It should be a very busy night for Myers against a talented forwards group.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

6 months agoVancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers exited Friday's 3-2 shootout loss against Philadelphia with a lower-body injury. He was involved in an awkward collision with Flyers forward Joel Farabee early in the first period and needed help to get off the ice. Myers couldn't put any weight on his right leg. Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet didn't have an update on Myers after the game. The 34-year-old is a big piece of the Canucks defense in more ways than one. Standing at six-foot-eight, Myers is an intimidating figure, but he occasionally helps out the offense as well. He tallied 29 points (five goals, 24 assists) in 77 games last season while racking up 136 blocks and 110 hits. Vincent Desharnais will likely enter the lineup if Myers lands on the shelf for the next game on Tuesday versus Tampa Bay.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
