Tush Push Unlikely To Be Banned For 2025 Season
1 day agoFOX Sports' Jordan Schultz reports that it's his understanding that the tush-push ban is unlikely to have enough votes to be banned in 2025, and there's a better chance that discussions about the controversial play will be tabled for a future owners meeting. Some teams are advocating for the play to be banned, but one source said, "the current language in the proposal is just not clear enough and can easily be manipulated." The Green Bay Packers were the team that initially proposed the ban of the play that the Philadelphia Eagles run so well, and it earned the support of 16 NFL teams. However, NFL bylaws require a minimum of 24 votes to approve a change to a rule. It sounds like the topic will be revisited at the next owners meeting from May 20-21 in Minnesota. The Packers' proposal would prohibit an offensive player from immediately pushing a teammate who is lined up directly behind the snapper and receives the snap.
