Michael Burton Back With Broncos
7 days agoThe Denver Broncos are re-signing fullback Michael Burton for the 2025 campaign, according to team reporter Zac Stevens. Burton was originally a fifth-round pick by the Detroit Lions in 2015 out of Rutgers and has spent time with the Lions, Bears, Saints, Redskins, Chiefs, and Broncos. He reunited with Sean Payton in Denver in 2023 and is back for his third season with the organization. The 33-year-old is primarily utilized as a pure blocker, but he has compiled 42 carries for 79 yards and two touchdowns in 147 career games. He's hauled in 31 receptions for 196 yards and two scores as a receiver. In 2025, he could be blocking for a highly-drafted rookie running back like North Carolina's Omarion Hampton or Ohio State's TreVeyon Henderson.

Michael Burton Scores Second Touchdown Of The Year On Thursday
3 months agoDenver Broncos fullback Michael Burton got into the action in the 34-27 loss to the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night at SoFi Stadium on a short touchdown pass from rookie quarterback Bo Nix in the second quarter. Burton is not a big part of Denver's offense, but he caught one of Nix's two touchdown passes on the evening for his second touchdown in the last three games. He also fell into the end zone on a goal-line carry in the Week 13 win over the Cleveland Browns. The 32-year-old veteran has mostly served a blocking role for Denver's struggling ground game this year, but he'll occasionally get a touch or two. On the year as a whole through 15 games, Burton has only six rushing attempts for five yards and a touchdown while adding 10 catches on 10 targets for 65 yards and another score. He should continue to be ignored for fantasy purposes.

Michael Burton Scores Second Career Touchdown On Monday Night
4 months agoDenver Broncos fullback Michael Burton surprisingly scored just the second touchdown of his career in Monday night's 41-32 shootout win over the Cleveland Browns at Empower Field in Denver. Burton had only one carry on the night, but he made it count, plunging into the end zone from one yard out for the Broncos' second rushing score of the evening in a game that featured big plays all night. It was the 32-year-old's sixth carry of the year in 13 games, and Burton has only run for five yards all season on his six carries. In addition to his six carries, Burton has caught all seven of his targets for 46 yards (6.6 yards per reception). Burton will continue to operate as Denver's fullback the rest of the season, but he's nowhere near the fantasy radar and mainly contributes on special teams.

Michael Burton Finds End Zone In Week 15
3 years agoKansas City Chiefs fullback Michael Burton saw one carry in a Week 15 victory versus the Los Angeles Chargers. The one carry would wind up being a seven-yard touchdown in the first quarter and his first of the season. Burton is mainly used a blocker in the Chiefs offense and despite the rare end zone celebration, he should remain on the waiver wire in all formats for the teams Week 16 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
