3 days agoFree-agent cornerback Chidobe Awuzie is signing a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens, according to NFL.com. The 29-year-old signed with the Tennessee Titans last offseason but lasted just one year with the team before being released. Awuzie spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys followed by three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. Overall, the former second-round pick has compiled 395 tackles (290 solo), five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, seven interceptions, and 66 pass deflections in 94 career games. Awuzie was limited to just eight games last year due to a groin injury. He is set to provide depth and a veteran presence in the Baltimore secondary that allowed 238.3 passing yards per game (27th) a season ago.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

20 hours agoFormer Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders will take part in private workouts for the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns following his April 4 Pro Day, according to Ian Rapoport. Both teams have held private workouts for Miami's quarterback Cam Ward and are doing extra work on the son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, too. Tennessee is expected to pick Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but they could be open to moving the pick if they receive a significant trade package. That said, both teams are still realistic landing spots for Sanders, who completed over 71% of his passes for 7,364 yards, 64 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions over his final two collegiate seasons.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

20 hours agoThe New York Jets are signing free-agent wide receiver Josh Reynolds to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million on Thursday, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. New general manager Darren Mougey is familiar with Reynolds from their time together with the Denver Broncos last year. The 30-year-old veteran wideout also spent time in 2023 with the Detroit Lions and with the Jacksonville Jaguars to close out last season. With Denver and Jacksonville in 2024, Reynolds combined for only 13 receptions on 24 targets for 194 yards and one touchdown in nine games played (two starts). The former fourth-round pick (117th overall) by the Los Angeles Rams in 2017 out of Texas A&M will now head to New York, where he'll be battling for a complementary role behind Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard and Xavier Gipson. Barring injuries, Reynolds will be avoidable in 12-team fantasy leagues this fall.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

20 hours agoNaming quarterback J.J. McCarthy (knee) as the Minnesota Vikings' starting quarterback is "the outcome we want" and "the outcome we're headed towards," general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said on Wednesday. However, the GM also refused to rule out the possibility of revisiting talks with free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers later this offseason if he's still available. McCarthy and Brett Rypien are the only QBs currently on the Vikings roster after both Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones left in free agency. McCarthy, the 10th overall pick in 2024, missed all of his rookie season due to a torn meniscus in his right knee suffered in the preseason. However, he's been cleared for offseason activities and is working to regain weight after losing more than 20 pounds. McCarthy said he hasn't been told he's the starter, but barring something unexpected, he should be under center for the Vikes in Week 1 this fall.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

1 day agoThe Tennessee Titans announced on Wednesday that they signed free-agent quarterback Tim Boyle to an undisclosed deal. Boyle will provide depth in the QB room in Tennessee behind Will Levis and Brandon Allen. However, with the Titans fully expected to take a rookie signal-caller in this year's draft -- signs are pointing toward it being Cam Ward at No. 1 overall -- Boyle won't be a lock to stick around with Tennessee into the 2025 regular season. The 30-year-old veteran will be joining his seventh NFL team after already playing with the Packers, Lions, Bears, Jets, Dolphins and Giants. He spent last year with the Dolphins and Giants, going 27-for-50 for 276 yards, one touchdown and an interception in three games (no starts). Boyle has a 60.5 career completion percentage with five touchdown passes and 13 interceptions in 23 career games (five starts) over six seasons.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
