Nick Jensen Not Playing On Thursday
1 week agoOttawa Senators defenseman Nick Jensen (lower body) will remain sidelined on Thursday evening against the Colorado Avalanche. Jensen has missed the previous two contests due to this injury. Jensen will look to return to action on Saturday when the Senators travel to New Jersey to face the Devils. While Jensen remains out this evening, fantasy managers should expect Nikolas Matinpalo to remain in the starting lineup. Before his injury, Jensen tallied one point (one helper) over his last seven contests. During this stretch, Jensen added four hits with 12 blocked shots. Through 60 total games this season, the 34-year-old has found the back of the net three times and added 16 helpers with 47 hits and 74 blocked shots. When he does return, he will only carry value in deeper formats that reward blocked shots.

Nick Jensen Remains Out On Saturday
5 days agoOttawa Senators defenseman Nick Jensen (lower body) will miss a fourth consecutive game on Saturday against the New Jersey Devils. After sitting out some time due to a lower-body injury, Jensen was trending toward returning to the lineup against the Devils, and he was considered a game-time decision. However, the veteran blue-liner will sit out at least one more game. Travis Hamonic (undisclosed) will remain in the lineup as Jensen's replacement. He didn't complete Thursday's clash against the Colorado Avalanche but will work with Thomas Chabot on the second defensive pairing on Saturday. Hamonic is not a good fantasy option due to limitations in his offensive game.

Nick Jensen Not Expected To Play On Tuesday
1 week agoOttawa Senators defenseman Nick Jensen (lower body) is still limited by this injury and is not expected to play on Tuesday against the Montreal Canadiens. Fantasy managers should monitor his status during Tuesday's morning skate, but it appears the 34-year-old will likely miss his second-straight contest. If he were to miss this game, Jensen would then be hoping to return on Thursday to face the Colorado Avalanche. Before his injury, Jensen tallied one point (an assist) with three hits and six blocked shots over his last four contests. Through 60 total contests this season, Jensen has found the back of the net three times and added 16 helpers. He has logged 74 blocked shots and added 47 hits. When he does return, he will only have value in deeper formats that reward blocked shots.

Nick Jensen Continues Prolific Month In Friday's Win
3 months agoOttawa Senators defenseman Nick Jensen scored a goal and bagged an assist as the team took down Carolina 3-0 on Friday night. Jensen's work helped Shane Pinto start the scoring early in the second period, and he then popped up with a goal himself with 5:15 remaining in regulation. This was the second multi-point performance of the season for Jensen, who's been quietly effective on the Senators blue line with 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) and a team-best plus-15 rating in 29 outings. Five of his points (one goal, four assists) have come in six December appearances. Jensen also boasts 31 blocks and 34 hits for the campaign, so he's chipping in at both ends during his first season in Canada.

Rasmus Sandin, Nick Jensen Likely For Game 4
11 months agoWashington Capitals defensemen Rasmus Sandin and Nick Jensen are both on track to return for Game 4 of the team's first-round series versus the New York Rangers on Sunday. Both defensemen have been sidelined by upper-body injuries and have yet to appear in the series. "On track to play tonight, so we'll see how the rest of the day goes. Looking optimistic," Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery said after Sunday's morning skate. "It should help us a bunch. Two guys that have been in our lineup the majority of the year." Sandin hasn't played since April 7 while Jensen has been out since April 13. The Capitals need a win on Sunday to avoid elimination.
