Red Sox To Option Vaughn Grissom To Triple-A
14 seconds agoThe Boston Red Sox will send infielder Vaughn Grissom to Triple-A Worcester, sources tell ESPN's Kiley McDaniel. It doesn't come as a big surprise, as Grissom really didn't do anything in spring training to stand out above the team's top options at the keystone in prospect Kristian Campbell and David Hamilton. Grissom, 24, has hit only .176 with a .535 OPS in 13 Grapefruit League games and will now serve as infield depth in the minors to begin the 2025 season. Once a promising prospect with the Atlanta Braves, Grissom's best path to fantasy relevance moving forward might be a trade. He was expected to open last year as the team's starting second baseman, but groin and hamstring injuries in the spring prevented that from happening. He appeared in just 31 games at the big-league level and hit .190 with no homers, six RBI and two steals.
