2025 NFL Mock Draft (Post Opening Round of Free Agency): Rounds 1 And 2

Jaxson Dart - College Football Rankings, NCAA CFB DFS Lineup Picks

With free agency news slowing down, the initial wave has now passed and NFL management has turned its attention to the draft in hopes of improving their teams for the upcoming 2025 season. Some of the moves made in free agency help to give a clearer picture of where some clubs may be looking in the draft.

There are still a few major quarterback dominoes to fall, headlined by the looming decision of Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is 41 years old, however, and is not a long-term fix at quarterback, so his decision will not likely sway any team from taking a stab at a potential franchise quarterback.

With a clearer picture of team needs heading into this year’s draft, here’s how I project Rounds 1 and 2 to shake out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Round 1

1) New York Giants - Cam Ward, QB, Miami

Mock Trade: NYG receives R1P1, 2026 4th for R1P3, R2P34, 2026 2nd, 2026 3rd

Kicking this mock off with a bang. The Giants trade their first-round pick (third overall), second-round pick (34th overall), and second- and third-round picks in 2026 for the first overall pick along with a fourth-rounder in 2026 from Tennessee.

The haul is enough for the Titans to pass up an opportunity to draft a franchise quarterback, while the Giants feel confident that they have their guy. Enter the Cam Ward era in the Big Apple.

2) Cleveland Browns - Abdul Carter
, EDGE, Penn State

As badly as the Browns need to address the quarterback position, they cannot pass up the opportunity to pair Myles Garrett with Abdul Carter to create one of the most ferocious pass rushes in the league.

3) Tennessee Titans - Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado

Mock Trade: TEN receives R1P3, R2P34, 2026 2nd, 2026 3rd for R1P1, 2026 4th

After moving down and kick-starting its rebuild with a slew of high-value picks, Tennessee grabs the do-it-all Heisman winner. This team has a massive hole at both receiver and defensive back, so it’s anybody’s guess as to how Brian Callahan chooses to deploy Travis Hunter.

4) New England Patriots - Will Campbell, OT, LSU

Protect Drake Maye at all costs. New England has many holes across the board, but locking in a franchise cornerstone to protect the franchise quarterback’s blindside for the next 10+ years feels like a can’t-miss.

5) Jacksonville Jaguars - Mason Graham, DT, Michigan

The interior defensive line is lacking in Jacksonville, but adding Mason Graham suddenly makes it a strength. Graham is one of few prospects in this class who feels like he has an extremely safe floor with Aaron Donald-level upside. Jaguars fans have to be thrilled with this selection.

6) Las Vegas Raiders - Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

Las Vegas is a team with many needs, but WR1 is a glaring hole on a team with a lack of weapons. Pairing Tetairoa McMillan with Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers suddenly gives new quarterback Geno Smith a host of weapons to work with.

7) New York Jets - Armand Membou, OT, Missouri

The Jets need a right tackle and after rising to the top of the boards with a dominant combine performance, Armand Membou is the pick. Justin Fields suddenly has a rock-solid offensive line to operate behind in Year 1 in New York.

8) Carolina Panthers - Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

Carolina has a multitude of needs but it is a major priority to surround third-year quarterback Bryce Young with help, which he has lacked in his first two seasons at the helm. Tyler Warren was dominant last season at Penn State and would step in as an instant top option and safety net for Young.

9) New Orleans Saints - Jalon Walker, EDGE, Georgia

Cam Jordan isn’t going to live forever. While it did bring Chase Young back, adding a rotational pass-rusher is a priority, and with a talent like Jalon Walker on the board, New Orleans takes a swing. Walker can step into a linebacker/edge-rusher hybrid role and make an impact from Day 1.

10) Chicago Bears - Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

The smoke of Jeanty to Chicago has heated up in recent weeks, and it’s a pairing that makes a lot of sense. Considered the top running back prospect to enter the league in a long time, a dream landing spot for Jeanty would be the Bears. With a revamped offensive line, an offensive guru calling the shots, and a second-year elite quarterback prospect, Jeanty would make a major impact on a team currently lacking star power in the backfield.

11) San Francisco 49ers - Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss

San Francisco consistently nails defensive linemen in Round 1 and after losing Javon Hargrave in free agency, interior defensive line is a major need. Walter Nolen has all of the intangibles and recorded 6.5 sacks as a junior. San Francisco would be a dream fit for him to step into the league.

12) Dallas Cowboys - Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas

The Dallas offensive line is a mess after Zack Martin’s retirement. Terence Steele does not look like a long-term answer, and rebuilding the trenches is a priority for Dallas to get back to playing competitive ball. It stays in-state and selects Texas’ Kelvin Banks Jr. to pair with last year’s first-rounder, Tyler Guyton, to anchor the offensive line for years to come.

13) Miami Dolphins - Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M

Shemar Stewart is a polarizing prospect in that he is one of the most athletic players in the draft, but does not have the production to show for it. Miami likes to take swings like this, and with the defensive line being one of its major areas of need, swings for the upside with Stewart at 13.

14) Indianapolis Colts - Tyler Booker, OG, Alabama

The interior offensive line became a major priority with the Colts losing Ryan Kelly this offseason. Don’t be surprised to see GM Chris Ballard trade down and target Tyler Booker later, but for this mock, he sticks and picks the rock-solid interior lineman out of Alabama.

15) Atlanta Falcons - Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall

Another riser throughout the predraft process, Marshall EDGE Mike Green comes off the board to Atlanta, a team that desperately needs pass-rushing production. Green would instantly step into a starting role and would be an early DROY contender should he land in Atlanta.

16) Arizona Cardinals - Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

Arizona signed Dalvin Tomlinson this offseason but still needs more help on the interior defensive line. 2023 national champion Kenneth Grant is a plug-and-play impact player. This defense suddenly looks a little more intimidating after adding Josh Sweat in free agency and drafting Grant 16th.

17) Cincinnati Bengals - James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee

Rumored to be falling down boards due to “character concerns,” Cincinnati does its due diligence with Pearce and rushes to turn in its pick at 17. The former Tennessee Volunteer was noticeably the most impactful player on the field more often than he wasn’t in 2024. Over the last two seasons, he recorded 17 sacks, three forced fumbles, and a pick-six. Cincinnati finally finds a cornerstone edge-rusher to pair with Trey Hendrickson, should it re-sign him.

18) Seattle Seahawks - Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss

I know they just signed Sam Darnold, but that deal is a one-year deal disguised as a three-year deal. Seattle is going to explore other options at quarterback while giving Darnold another chance to prove himself worthy of being the franchise guy. Rumors have floated around for a while now that the Seahawks like Dart -- rather than go all-in on Darnold, it brings in competition.

19) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan

Cade Otton has been productive at times in his career, but grabbing a true difference-maker at tight end in Colston Loveland may be exactly what this offense needs to take yet another step forward. There is no shortage of weapons in Baker Mayfield’s arsenal after adding Michigan’s leading receiver.

20) Denver Broncos - Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina

Sean Payton is longing for a running back that he can feed the ball to, and here he finally gets one. Omarion Hampton dominated in a bad offense, recording 1,660 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground in 2024. He will be a workhorse and will take some pressure off Bo Nix by providing an adequate rushing game.

21) Pittsburgh Steelers - Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Shedeur Sanders' draft-day slide ends with Pittsburgh, which is in dire need of adding a quarterback to its room that currently only houses Mason Rudolph. Mike Tomlin hands the keys of the franchise to Sanders, who can sit behind Rudolph if Tomlin feels he is not ready to start immediately.

22) Los Angeles Chargers - Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State

Behind Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles’ receiver room is paper-thin. It did just bring Mike Williams back, but he is aging and injury-prone. Quentin Johnston has not shown that he can be a reliable target entering his third season in the league. Emeka Egbuka has done nothing but prove that he is a sure-handed, elite route runner. While his game is similar to McConkey’s, adding another target for Justin Herbert feels like a necessity.

23) Green Bay Packers - Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Green Bay is thrilled to have Will Johnson fall into its lap at pick 23. With Jaire Alexander on the block and knowingly having played his last game as a Packer, grabbing a replacement is imminent. Why not the best corner in the draft, who many project to go off the board a lot earlier?

24) Minnesota Vikings - Malaki Starks, S, Georgia

With Cam Bynum headed to the Colts, Minnesota grabs an even more dynamic option to replace him and to keep the defensive domination under Brian Flores rolling. Malaki Starks is a home-run pick at 24, rounding out a dominant Minnesota defense.

25) Houston Texans - Donovan Jackson, OG, Ohio State

After trading away both Kenyon Green and Laremy Tunsil, Houston has made it clear that it is rehauling the offensive line. Here, it reunites C.J. Stroud with college teammate Donovan Jackson and shores up the middle of its line.

26) Los Angeles Rams - Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas

The Rams have needed secondary help for a few seasons now, and landing the Thorpe Award winner at pick 26 feels sweet for them. Jahdae Barron slots into the starting lineup right away, continuing the youth movement on Los Angeles’ feisty defense.

27) Baltimore Ravens - Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia

Kyle Van Noy’s resurgence has been great for Baltimore, but he is aging. This team needs more pass-rushing help, and grabbing a talent like Mykel Williams at the bottom of the first round feels like a steal for a team that seems to always come up with them on draft day.

28) Detroit Lions - Jack Sawyer, EDGE, Ohio State

After seemingly letting Za’Darius Smith walk in free agency, Detroit badly needs pass-rushing help on the opposite side of Aidan Hutchinson. It grabs Jack Sawyer, who made big play after big play during Ohio State’s national championship run, and adds instant value to the Detroit defense.

29) Washington Commanders - Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon

After cutting ties with Jonathan Allen, Washington opts for another interior defensive lineman at the end of Round 1 in Oregon’s Derrick Harmon. Adding the dominant big man to a defensive line that includes Daron Payne, Javon Kinlaw, Jer’Zhan Newton, Dorance Armstrong, Eddie Goldman, and Clelin Ferrell gives Washington a Philly-esque feel.

30) Buffalo Bills - Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame

Buffalo has not had a shutdown corner since Tre’Davious White. That is exactly what Morrison was at Notre Dame. If not for dealing with injuries last season, he very well could have been the first corner off the board this season. The Bills grab a potential steal to revamp their secondary.

31) Kansas City Chiefs - Tyleik Williams, DT, Ohio State

Aside from Chris Jones, Kansas City does not have much of an interior presence on the defensive line. That changes by adding the 330-pound game-wrecker from Ohio State. Teams simply could not run up the middle on the Buckeyes because of this guy. Letting him fall to Kansas City is a crime that the rest of the league will forever regret.

32) Cleveland Browns (trade up with PHI) - Quinn Ewers, QB, Texas

Mock Trade: CLE receives R1P32 for R2P33, R6P179

Cleveland gives up a sixth-round pick and trades up one spot into the back end of the first round to get a fifth-year option on its new face of the franchise. There has been very little buzz on Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers throughout the predraft process, and Cleveland likes it that way. A team that desperately needs a quarterback adds one with all the intangibles and a winning pedigree throughout his college career.

Round 2

33) Philadelphia Eagles (trade down with CLE) - Nic Scourton, EDGE, Texas A&M

Mock Trade: PHI receives R2P33, R6P179 for R1P32

Philly grabs an extra sixth-rounder and still gets the prospect it was hoping to select at the end of the first round in Texas A&M’s Nic Scourton. The offseason hasn’t been kind to the Super Bowl champs, who saw Josh Sweat and Milton Williams depart along with Brandon Graham retiring. This leaves youngsters Jalyx Hunt and Nolan Smith as the primary edge-rushers. Adding Scourton, who had 10 sacks as a sophomore at Purdue, will help the Eagles reload their pass rush.

34) Tennessee Titans - Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri

Mock Trade: TEN receives R1P3, R2P34, 2026 2nd, 2026 3rd for R1P1, 2026 4th

With an additional second-rounder picked up from trading the top pick, Tennessee grabs another offensive weapon to pair with Travis Hunter in Luther Burden III. After revamping the offensive line by bringing in Dan Moore Jr. and Kevin Zeitler in free agency, the receiving corps now contains Burden, Hunter, and Calvin Ridley. Sleeper landing spot for Russell Wilson?

35) Tennessee Titans - Wyatt Milum, OG, West Virginia

It isn't done -- Tennessee gets back-to-back picks and grabs West Virginia’s Wyatt Milum, a great run-blocker and versatile interior offensive lineman. Milum can sit behind the aforementioned Kevin Zeitler for a season before stepping into a full-time role.

36) Jacksonville Jaguars - Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College

Jacksonville’s defensive line now contains Travon Walker, Josh Hines-Allen, Mason Graham, DaVon Hamilton, and Donovan Ezeiruaku. The Boston College product racked up 16.5 sacks and three forced fumbles as a senior. New defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile has to be ecstatic.

37) Las Vegas Raiders - Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota

After adding a dynamic receiver in Round 1, Las Vegas builds the trenches with a versatile lineman in Aireontae Ersery. Ersery stands 6-foot-6, 331 pounds, and can play both inside and outside. He primarily played left tackle at Minnesota, but scouts believe he could shift inside in the NFL. The offensive line is a major need for the Raiders, and they are happy to pull the trigger on a guy who can move all over.

38) New England Patriots - Matthew Golden, WR, Texas

After grabbing a cornerstone tackle in Round 1, New England gives Drake Maye a much-needed weapon in Round 2 in combine superhero Matthew Golden. After breaking out to lead Texas with 987 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, Golden showcased top-end speed with a 4.29-second 40-yard dash. He’s more than just a speedster, as he has proved to be a great route runner and can function as a WR1.

39) Chicago Bears - Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State

After revamping the interior offensive line through free agency, Chicago takes a swing at a project in tackle Josh Simmons. Simmons has all of the intangibles but could probably benefit from sitting behind a veteran such as Braxton Jones for a year or two, especially after missing most of his senior season with an injury.

40) New Orleans Saints - Tre Harris, WR, Ole Miss

It’s no secret that New Orleans needs receivers. The depth chart is barren behind Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, who both missed time with injuries a season ago. Ole Miss product Tre Harris has a very high ceiling, much like other former Rebel products A.J. Brown and DK Metcalf. He has rattled off three straight 930+ yards, 7+ touchdown seasons.

41) Chicago Bears - Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama

The Alabama product’s slide abruptly comes to an end as he joins the reloading Chicago Bears. After an impressive season that saw him record five sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception, the Bears don’t overthink the positional value and add Jihaad Campbell to a linebacking corps that already includes Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards.

42) New York Jets - Jayden Higgins, WR, Iowa State

Behind Garrett Wilson, the Jets’ receiver depth chart is a barren wasteland. Allen Lazard (who has requested a trade), Xavier Gipson, and Malachi Corley are not going to get the job done. This team will be drafting a receiver, and in this scenario, it adds the productive 6-foot-4 receiver from Iowa State. Jayden Higgins put up 1,183 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior and is firmly in the Round 2 conversation. He would be a nice complement to Wilson in New York.

43) San Francisco 49ers - Maxwell Hairston, CB, Kentucky

After rising boards with a great combine performance, San Francisco selects its Charvarius Ward replacement in Kentucky product Maxwell Hairston. Cornerback is a glaring need for the 49ers right now, who hope to hit on their first Day 2 selection.

44) Dallas Cowboys - Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State

Everybody knows that the Cowboys need a running back. Signing Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams to one-year deals will not solve the nonexistent rushing game. Drafting a do-it-all back in Ohio State’s Quinshon Judkins will. Judkins dominated from the jump as a freshman at Ole Miss and will become an immediate workhorse for Dallas.

45) Indianapolis Colts - Darius Alexander, DT, Toledo

The Colts have an out to Grover Stewart’s contract next year and could select his replacement a year early in a very deep interior defensive line class. Toledo’s Darius Alexander has risen boards after a dominant fifth year in college and instantly adds depth to Indianapolis’ front seven.

46) Atlanta Falcons - Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina

He could go off the board a lot earlier, but here the Falcons land the versatile safety out of South Carolina. Nick Emmanwori notched four interceptions in 2024, returning two of them for touchdowns. He’s an athletic freak and would make a very scary duo with star Jessie Bates III.

47) Arizona Cardinals - Marcus Mbow, OT, Purdue

Marcus Mbow has experience playing both tackle and guard, but projects primarily as a guard at the next level. The Cardinals do not have a sure thing on the roster at guard right now, and adding Mbow helps plug a hole.

48) Miami Dolphins - Grey Zabel, OG, North Dakota State

Miami added James Daniels in free agency, but could still use some help building up the trenches on both sides of the ball. Grey Zabel is a riser out of North Dakota State and has been catching the eye of scouts with his mobility despite his 6-foot-6 frame.

49) Cincinnati Bengals - Xavier Watts, S, Notre Dame

Cincinnati continues to add playmakers to its defense, bringing in Notre Dame safety Xavier Watts. He recorded 13 interceptions over the past two seasons and seemingly always has an eye for the ball. Cincinnati desperately has been searching for a game-changing safety ever since letting Jessie Bates III walk in free agency, and it finally gets one at pick 49.

50) Seattle Seahawks - Josh Conerly
 Jr., OT, Oregon

Abe Lucas and Charles Cross are not likely the long-term answers at tackle. Seattle addresses one of the league’s worst offensive lines by bringing in Oregon product Josh Conerly Jr., a former five-star recruit who impressed throughout his college career.

51) Denver Broncos - Elic Ayomanor, WR, Stanford

Denver needs to continue adding mouths for Bo Nix to feed. Receiver-by-committee worked somewhat for it last season, but Courtland Sutton is not getting any younger, and Marvin Mims Jr., Devaughn Vele, and Troy Franklin have not yet shown that they are capable of taking on a huge workload.

52) Seattle Seahawks - Jonah Savaiinaea, OG, Arizona

Two picks earlier, Seattle added to the offensive line with Josh Conerly Jr. Now using the pick it acquired for DK Metcalf, it takes a versatile lineman in Arizona’s Jonah Savaiinaea to continue to revamp the line in front of Sam Darnold/Jaxson Dart.

53) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - JT Tuimoloau, EDGE, Ohio State

After adding Haason Reddick in free agency, there is still a bit of work to be done in Tampa. Ohio State’s JT Tuimoloau went on a tear in the playoffs, recording 6.5 sacks in four games. If you want to see his full potential, go watch the 2022 Penn State-Ohio State game. Tuimoloau has what it takes to become a star, and in Tampa, he can start as a rotational pass-rusher.

54) Green Bay Packers - Azareye’h Thomas, CB, Florida State

Why draft one corner when you can draft two? Green Bay takes the Eagles’ approach in rebuilding the secondary, adding Azareye’h Thomas and Will Johnson to complement each other.

55) Los Angeles Chargers - TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State

They did just sign Najee Harris, but the Chargers lack a true explosive playmaker in their offense. Jim Harbaugh dips into the Ohio State bag yet again in Round 2 and adds TreVeyon Henderson, who would thrive in a part-time pass-catching role alongside Harris.

56) Buffalo Bills - Deone Walker, DT, Kentucky

Buffalo has retooled the defensive line through free agency, adding Michael Hoecht, Larry Ogunjobi, and Joey Bosa. Both Hoecht and Ogunjobi will serve suspensions, instantly making the Bills thin again. Deone Walker broke out as a sophomore, recording 7.5 sacks in 2023. He fills in nicely behind Ed Oliver and DaQuan Jones to start his career.

57) Carolina Panthers - Princely Umanmielen, EDGE, Ole Miss

Pass rush is a major need for Carolina. While it does have Derrick Brown, Jadeveon Clowney, and Tershawn Wharton on the defensive line, it feels like a very thin position group. After four seasons at Florida, Princely Umanmielen had the best season of his career at Ole Miss in which he recorded 10.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

58) Houston Texans - Tate Ratledge, OG, Georgia

A three-year starter with a safe floor, Tate Ratledge adds depth to the revamped Houston offensive line. He projects as a potential instant starter, which Houston could use even with Donovan Jackson selected in Round 1.

59) Baltimore Ravens - Emery Jones
 Jr., OT, LSU

Baltimore could use an additional offensive lineman and LSU’s Emery Jones Jr. can play both guard and tackle, making him a perfect sixth offensive lineman.

60) Detroit Lions - Landon Jackson, EDGE, Arkansas

Detroit doubles down on adding to the pass rush, bringing in Arkansas product Landon Jackson. Standing 6-foot-7, Jackson recorded 13 sacks over the past two seasons and would make a great rotational piece along the defensive line.

61) Washington Commanders - Josaiah Stewart, EDGE, Michigan

Washington adds a final piece to a revamped defensive line in Michigan’s Josaiah Stewart. Primarily used as a rotational edge-rusher in college, Stewart racked up 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in his final collegiate season. He’s the perfect addition to line up across from Dorance Armstrong, replacing the departed Dante Fowler Jr.

62) Buffalo Bills - Lathan Ransom, S, Ohio State

Buffalo just re-signed Damar Hamlin to a one-year deal, but it still needs a long-term answer at safety. The hard-hitting Lathan Ransom is just that. An important piece to Ohio State’s national championship defense, Ransom forced three fumbles and recorded an interception last season. He pairs nicely with Hamlin and Taylor Rapp on the back end of the Buffalo secondary.

63) Kansas City Chiefs - Kaleb Johnson, RB, Iowa

Kansas City added Elijah Mitchell and brought back Kareem Hunt in free agency, but something tells me the running back room is still a work in progress. Isiah Pacheco’s effectiveness took a hit coming off his injury last season. Kaleb Johnson runs patiently like Le'Veon Bell but has a frame like Derrick Henry. He ran for 1,537 yards and 21 touchdowns as a junior and would be a key addition to the Chiefs rushing attack.

64) Philadelphia Eagles - Harold Fannin Jr., TE, Bowling Green

There are a lot of rumors floating around that Dallas Goedert is done in Philadelphia. If they are true, the Eagles will need to address the tight-end position. New quarterback coach Scot Loeffler was the head coach at Bowling Green last season, where Harold Fannin Jr. lit up stat sheets on his way to a 1,555-yard, 10-touchdown season. He would be a welcome addition to quarterback Jalen Hurts’ arsenal.
