Michael Kim Looks To Rebound At Valspar Championship
1 day agoAfter a run of great form over the last several events, it was surprising to see Michael Kim miss the cut at The Players this past week. The 31-year-old got off to a rough start on Thursday, carding a three-over-par, 75. That is really all it takes to find yourself on the outside looking in at TPC Sawgrass, and by the end of Friday, he was still averaging positive metrics on approach and around the green. Losing -1.02 strokes off the tee is what did him in. Regarding the Copperhead Course, Kim has had a long and frustrating history around this property. In seven career starts, he's only recorded one top-40 finish along with four missed cuts. However, to say his game has perhaps been in a much better place than ever before would be an understatement. He's the ninth-ranked player on the PGA Tour this season in strokes gained tee to green (+1.271). When it comes to confidence in playing him in DFS lineups, he'll need to show more damning evidence before feeling the need to jump ship.
