hours agoThe Seattle Seahawks have signed defensive back Shemar Jean-Charles to a one-year deal. The former fifth-round pick hasn't been able to make much of an impact early in his career. He last played with the New Orleans Saints in 2024. He finished with 14 tackles, two passes defended, and one interception in nine games (two starts) with the Saints last season. Jean-Charles will get a chance to compete for a depth role in Seattle during training camp.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

hours agoThe Cincinnati Bengals signed wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase to a four-year, $161 million deal with $112 million guaranteed on Sunday to make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, according to FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. The 25-year-old All-Pro wideout is now under contract with the Bengals for the next five years for $182.816 million. The former fifth overall pick in 2021 out of LSU was deserving of the record contract after leading the league in receptions (127), receiving yards (1,708), touchdowns (17) and yards per game (100.5) in 17 games (16 starts) for the Bengals in his fourth year in the league in 2024. Chase has now been a Pro Bowler in each of his four years in the NFL and has put up at least 1,046 yards and seven touchdowns every year. With Tee Higgins also coming back and with Joe Burrow throwing him the football, Chase will be the unquestioned top receiver in fantasy this fall.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

hours agoThe Seattle Seahawks recently signed free-agent quarterback Sam Darnold to a three-year, $100.5 million deal. According to Mike Florio, the Seahawks are Darnold are able to part ways after the 2025 season, assuming they want to. Darnold will receive $37.5 million, fully guaranteed for the upcoming season. After that, Darnold's salary will move to $27.5 million, but the Seahawks can opt-out after Super Bowl LX. This allows the Seahawks to escape the deal after one season. The organization is hopeful that Darnold can be an upgrade over Geno Smith, who they traded to the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this offseason. The Seahawks have made some major changes this offseason, including cutting Tyler Lockett, trading DK Metcalf, and signing wide receiver Cooper Kupp. We'll see what happens this upcoming season, but it appears the Seahawks can opt out of the deal if this experiment doesn't go well.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

hours agoBaltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews had his $4 million roster bonus picked up over the weekend. The veteran tight end is heading into his final year of his contract with the Ravens. There was speculation that the Ravens would move on from Andrews after his recent playoff struggles. Despite that, the Ravens appear to continue to ride with Andrews until a legit trade offer comes in. The three-time All-Pro tight end has seen his stats take a dip over the last few seasons. However, Andrews still hauled in 55 receptions for 673 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns in 17 games with the Ravens last season. It appears the Ravens aren't going to let a few mistakes in the playoffs end their relationship with Andrews.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

hours agoThe Los Angeles Rams have agreed to re-sign running back Ronnie Rivers to a one-year deal. The contract amount has not been disclosed. Rivers has spent the last three seasons with LA, though he never garnered more than 32 carries despite appearing in 34 games since 2022. He's a versatile back and profiles to be a solid handcuff if ever called upon in that capacity. However, he's more of an asset on special teams for the Rams, piling up 75.7% of his 2024 snaps in that phase of the game. The 26-year-old will continue to vie for offensive snaps with backup Blake Corum behind incumbent starter Kyren Williams. Rivers can currently be ignored for fantasy purposes.--Alex Ciulla
