Sheldon Day Re-Signing With Commanders
1 month agoThe Washington Commanders are re-signing veteran defensive tackle Sheldon Day, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo. The 30-year-old is back with Washington on a one-year deal after totaling 24 tackles (12 solo), one pass deflection, and 5.5 run stuffs in 12 games a season ago. Day was a 2016 fourth-round pick out of Notre Dame by the Jacksonville Jaguars and has appeared in 85 games for six organizations. He played a significant role for Washington when Pro Bowl defensive lineman Jonathan Allen, who is now with the Minnesota Vikings, was forced to miss significant time last year due to a torn pectoral.
