Carolina Hurricanes right wing Andrei Svechnikov (undisclosed) is not expected to return to the lineup on Friday evening when the Hurricanes face the Detroit Red Wings. Svechnikov was unable to play during their previous contest on Tuesday and is in line to miss his second-straight contest. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but given this update, they should expect Jackson Blake to continue to be deployed on the top forward line. Before his injury, the 24-year-old was held off the scoresheet in his last four contests. However, prior to this slump, Svechnikov tallied nine points (three goals) over his previous eight games. As a result, fantasy managers should view Blake as a viable streaming option and top play in DFS as he will be deployed on the top forward unit facing a weak Detroit defense.
