Carolina Hurricanes right wing Andrei Svechnikov (undisclosed) is not expected to return to the lineup on Friday evening when the Hurricanes face the Detroit Red Wings. Svechnikov was unable to play during their previous contest on Tuesday and is in line to miss his second-straight contest. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but given this update, they should expect Jackson Blake to continue to be deployed on the top forward line. Before his injury, the 24-year-old was held off the scoresheet in his last four contests. However, prior to this slump, Svechnikov tallied nine points (three goals) over his previous eight games. As a result, fantasy managers should view Blake as a viable streaming option and top play in DFS as he will be deployed on the top forward unit facing a weak Detroit defense.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Carolina Hurricanes winger Andrei Svechnikov celebrated his seventh goal of the postseason in Monday's Game 4 against the Washington Capitals, completing the scoring in a 5-2 win with an empty-net goal. With the goal, Svechnikov surpassed Eric Staal on the franchise's all-time playoff scoring list, occupying the second spot behind Sebastian Aho with 44 points (22 goals, 22 assists) in 60 games. Staal was the last Hurricanes player to score as many as seven goals in a single playoff campaign, having lit the lamp 10 times in 2009. Current Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour holds the franchise record with 12 goals in a single postseason. Svechnikov will get plenty of opportunities to match it, now that Carolina is just one win away from the Eastern Conference Finals. He has accumulated eight points overall in nine playoff games this year.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Carolina Hurricanes winger Andrei Svechnikov recorded his second career postseason hat trick in Sunday's 5-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils. He became the fourth player in franchise history to score in the opening minute of a playoff game and also found the net in the second and third periods. This was a breakout game for Svechnikov, as he had been limited to one goal and two points through the first three games of the series. On Sunday, Svechnikov became one of the most productive postseason performers in franchise history, reaching 41 points (19 goals, 22 assists) in his 55th appearance. Only Eric Staal (45) and Sebastian Aho (75) have tallied more points in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with the Hurricanes/Whalers.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Carolina Hurricanes winger Andrei Svechnikov (undisclosed) will come out of the lineup on Friday against the Detroit Red Wings and is not expected to play before the team returns home from a four-game road trip. This is an unfortunate setback for Svechnikov, who just returned from a seven-game absence. However, Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour stated that the Russian forward is being held out only for precautionary reasons. As a result of Svechnikov's absence, Eric Robinson will move into the top six against Detroit. There have been very few moments to celebrate for Robinson in recent games, but he has had a career year in 2024-25 with 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists) in 74 appearances,--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Carolina Hurricanes right wing Andrei Svechnikov (undisclosed) was unable to finish Wednesday's contest against the Washington Capitals. However, after the contest, head coach Rod Brind'Amour noted that he did not believe the injury was serious. During this contest, he logged just over eight minutes of ice time and did not get on the scoresheet. He only logged one hit and held a +0 rating. Over his previous two contests, Svechnikov tallied two points (one goal) with three total shots on goal. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to their next contest on Friday evening against the Detroit Red Wings. If Svechnikov were to miss this game, fantasy managers should expect Logan Stankoven or Tyson Jost to have a role in the top-six.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
