Seth Halvorsen Stumbles On Tuesday
25 seconds agoColorado Rockies pitching prospect Seth Halvorsen allowed five earned runs on Tuesday afternoon. Halvorsen was only able to get two outs. He allowed three hits and served up two free passes. Halvorsen is competing for a spot on the Opening Day roster. However, this poor showing could put him in danger of opening the season in the minor leagues. Last summer, Halvorsen made his MLB debut and tossed 12 1/3 innings to the tune of a 1.46 ERA with a 0.81 WHIP. He tallied two saves and generated an elite .196 xBA. Earlier in the season, the 25-year-old logged 44 1/3 innings across Double and Triple-A and posted a 4.47 ERA with a 1.47 WHIP. He tallied 56 strikeouts while serving up 23 walks. If he were to open the season in the minor leagues, Victor Vodnik and Tyler Kinley could see more save opportunities.
