Christopher Morel 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Looking To Bounce Back In 2025
Christopher Morel slashed .196/.288/.346 with 21 home runs, 60 RBI, 56 runs, and eight stolen bases over 611 plate appearances. However, Morel was one of the unluckiest hitters in baseball in 2024. Among players with 500 PA, he had the second-largest negative gap between xwOBA and wOBA. He also had the second-lowest BABIP at .233. Another reason for fantasy managers' optimism for Morel is that he improved his plated skills from 2023 to 2024. He decreased his K% from 31.0% to 26.0% and increased his BB% from 8.4% to 10.0%. One big negative we saw in 2024 for Morel was a decrease in his hard-hit metrics. This is pretty uncommon for a young player without an injury issue, so hopefully, he'll be able to hit the ball harder again in 2025. If Morel can combine his early career quality of contact skills with his improved plate skills, he should be in line for a nice bounce-back season with a bit of better-batted ball luck. Morel is a good flyer late in drafts (NFBC ADP 262) especially since he's eligible at 2B (Rotoballer 2B30), 3B (3B29) and will gain OF eligibility early in the season. ATC projects him to have a .227 BA with 22 HRs and nine SBs in 2025 over 510 PA.
