Thomas Novak Sustains Lower-Body Injury On Sunday
7 mins agoPittsburgh Penguins center Thomas Novak (lower body) sustained a lower-body injury during Sunday's victory over the Minnesota Wild. Novak exited the contest during the third period. Before the injury, Novak logged just over 12 minutes of ice time and logged two shots on goal with four blocks. He did not get on the scoresheet. Novak was acquired by the Penguins shortly before the trade deadline in a package that sent Michael Bunting to Nashville. In his brief time with the Penguins, Novak has seen time on the second forward line alongside Evgeni Malkin and Philip Tomasino. Novak has also had opportunities on the second power-play unit. If Novak were to miss their next contest on Tuesday against the Golden Knights, Danton Heinen would draw into the starting lineup.
