Saints Acquire Davon Godchaux From Patriots
3 mins agoThe New Orleans Saints acquired defensive tackle Davon Godchaux from the New England Patriots on Monday in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick in 2026, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Godchaux was a starter for four seasons in New England and will now head to the NFC South. He's a Plaquemine, Louisiana native and LSU product and will be heading home. The 30-year-old veteran has one year remaining on the two-year, $18 million extension he signed with the Patriots last offseason. More than anything, Godchaux brings durability in the trenches, as he hasn't missed a game since 2020. He also has 60-plus tackles on the interior defensive line in three of his last four seasons. The former fifth-rounder of the Miami Dolphins in 2017 will help shore up the Saints' run defense in new head coach Kellen Moore's first year running the team.
