Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally. My name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels, and you know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in MLB and NHL. I enjoy deep dumpster diving, so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays.
I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system, but a good spot is a good spot regardless of the platform.
Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends. We're so glad you could attend. Come inside! Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, March 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. EST. Tonight's four-game slate is stacked with a few obvious spots including Edmonton, Colorado, and Toronto. Taking a deeper look into recent metrics may tell a different story though.

DraftKings and FanDuel NHL DFS Picks: First Look Stats
After reading this, jump into the RotoBaller Discord NHL channel and chat about today's slate with all the other great minds. Don’t forget to check out our valuable NHL tools, including the NHL DFS Heat Map. I've begun implementing my personal trend chart. This looks at the average between the L25 and L10, weighing the L10 heavier to help find certain positive or negative trends.
Earlier I mentioned diving deeper into recent metrics, let's look at how the L10 games have differed from the L25.
We see above that Edmonton is struggling, not only allowing more chances against but also generating less offensively. Toronto is flailing as well L10 from their L25 metrics. Both teams could right the ship easily tonight or continue to tailspin downwards.
DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks
Value in net is key on DK with a three-point bonus at the 35-save mark. We can afford to give up an extra goal or two if our goalie can see a steady shot volume against him. Those extra few hundred can get us those top-line forwards.
Spencer Knight - DK $7.0K || FD $7.1K
Opponent - Colorado Avalanche
On a short slate, goalie options can be thin at times. Tonight's value goalie is weighed on the projected high shot volume that Knight should see facing the Avs tonight. Since being traded from Florida, Spencer has been stellar, stopping 77 of 81 shots and winning both games he's started. There's a huge risk going into Colorado facing a surging Avalanche, and his price allows him to give up a few goals while still returning value.
Others to consider: Alex Lyon (DK $7.4K || FD $7.4K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks
Josh Norris - DK $4.9K || FD $5.9K
Opponent - Edmonton Oilers
Norris makes his Buffalo Sabers debut tonight, centering the top line with Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch. Buffalo is trending upwards over the L10, generating more scoring and high-danger chances. The trend chart has detailed Edmonton's defensive slide, setting up the perfect time to attack an Oilers team that should carry heavy ownership on a short slate.
Others to consider: Logan Cooley (DK $4.4K || FD $6.5K )
DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks
Lawson Crouse - DK $3.2K || FD $4.4K
Opponent - Toronto Maple Leafs
UTA3 has been an article darling recently. Crouse and the rest of his linemates have amazing 5v5 metrics, albeit without heavy minutes. Lawson and Jack McBain share time on the second power-play unit, which bumps their TOI slightly over Josh Doan.
Others to consider: Elmer Soderblom (DK $2.6K || FD $3.8K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks
When selecting defensemen, especially on DK, I tend to find players with a high chance at both blocks and shots and not concentrate so much on point dependency. If we want to fit in studs like Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, or Auston Matthews, punting blueliners may be key tonight more than ever.
Brandon Carlo - DK $2.7K || FD $4.0K
Opponent - Utah Hockey Club
A new face in a better opportunity is the story of Brandon Carlo. Recently acquired from Boston, Carlo comes at a slight discount. Not known for his offensive production, Carlo's value solely relies on his ability to block shots. Being slotted for the top penalty kill unit is a plus, as is skating on the top blueline unit with Morgan Reilly.
Others to consider: Wyatt Kaiser (DK $2.7K || FD $3.9K)
My top 25 defensemen chart focuses more on shot and block peripherals to find a safer floor over the last month.
